    The software update to remove the pops was due to premature exhaust valve wear from the fuel dumps combusting in the exhaust. If you can find a 458 with the pops still there, your valves likely need replacing.

    LOL. You don't like your own medicine? I didn't realize people still used "boomer" in a derogatory way. I am way too young to be a boomer, not that it matters.

    Maybe no documentation available, but make sense. Pops and crackles are gas injected in the chamber without spark that explodes in the exhaust due to high temp, reason why valves may suffer.
