Most modern cars can easily be driven over 100k miles. Why is it that Ferrari’s, one of the worlds best driving and performing cars are only driven 500-1000 miles per year. My question for those who have put miles on their 488’s is:
How many miles have you put on your car?
Has it been reliable during that period?
Is it reasonable to drive say 50k miles in say 10-15 years without “major” concerns?

He’s talking about real mileage like a normal car. Average in most areas is 10-12k/yr…. So can a Ferrari be driven 10-12k/yr? Absolutely… just gotta do the maintenance etc… I’ve toyed with the idea of stopping being such a baby and keeping my F8 in perfect condition like some rare painting and just driving the hell out of it like ‘normal’ and stop caring about resale etc… if I can still keep earning a paycheck and keep paying for it, I have no intention of selling anyway so…. But I’m in a volatile business that changes often and I live check to check so…. That’s the only thing keeping me from just driving and driving everywhere.

So in short, if you do the maintenance and you got the money to pay for it or it’s paid off, then hell ya, drive it like any other car.

This has more to do with the people purchasing the cars than the cars themselves.

I don't understand that either all the low mileage stuff, it's like not screwing your wife /girlfriend, you are just saving her for the next guy. Sorry ladies, but you get my meaning.

I get that some people consider these a work of art, I could get on board with that. Some people don't want to lose too much in depreciation, but if that's the concern, don't buy a Ferrari, and if you are concerned about the cost of repair/service, don't buy a Ferrari

I drive mine daily and put about 6-7K on it a year, and take the position if you can afford the car you can afford the service, Insurance and depreciation, but to answer your question, these cars are just fine just like any other "normal" brand. They creak and groan, rattle and shake more than the mainstream, but isn't that what its all about, they sure as hell are faster, and whenever I get an EV owner especially Tesla Drivers telling me how fast their car is, I just tell them lets throw in a few corners and see how you get along against me.This part does not include SF90 owners.

With respect to "Major" concerns at 50K Miles, pretty much all brands will have them, otherwise no real issues and 50K over 15 years is only a little over 3K a year, I don't think the mileage is the problem at 15 years, just the storage and weather and how you keep her clean.

I drive my car 4000 miles a year. So far just a new Battery and replaced the front lift pump. I’m wondering, is there a Reasonable Market for 15 year old 50k mile Ferrari?

Another part of this is that almost ALWAYS, Ferrari owners have other cars for their errands and shopping and kids and and and etc… the car itself is an event so we want to drive it for joy only and not for purpose. And most of us work a lot too so finding time to drive them AND having a fun place to go is a combo that kinda just yields 1-3k miles/yr—

In other words, the low mileage isn’t only due to CHOOSING to keep it low for value reasons

Drive 2000 - 2500 miles per year in my F8 so far. I would drive it more often if I didn’t travel so much.

I had a 2014 F12 that I bought used with 7,000 miles and put another 6,000 on it in 2 years.

No issues with either car, battery or otherwise.

My toy is for when I wanna have some special times. If I drove him all the time, he and I wouldn't feel so special.

17k miles driven 21k miles on the clock. Car has been bullet proof outside of a blown turbo that was covered under warranty.

When the weather is right this car splits time with my 991.2 Turbo S. On Bad weather days my G wagon reports for duty.

Life is good and i'm very Thankful for that.

    Drive the car man.

  15. Because of the demographics of most Ferrari owners.

Most Ferrari owners have more than one car, heck, I would venture most have more than half a dozen cars.

So if one of them were drive a total of 10k miles in any given year, then between 5-6 cars, that would average out to be about 1500-2000 miles per car.

    That's why.

…even if I have to go get milk or any utility not so far away…as I walk to my Alpina SUV or my other car….it almost bothers me to think that I will miss out on just one more experience or time spent with my 488 ( time that will never come back ). I always turn back and choose to run the errand in my 488. Frankly I’ve never understood the concept of thinking resale value and choosing to abandon a 488 experience. What would be the resale value of living a bit more life that was just missed :)
It’s my daily driver at 4000-5000 kms year just crossing 25000kms . Not one issue so far !

Um, that’s 3,000 per year which is the same ‘nothing’ we’re talking about. I do the same amount but barely ever drive it.. like twice or three times per month…

I daily drive my 458 whenever the weather permits (no salt/snow/ice). Life is short. I don't care about miles or resale

@05F430F1 Are you afraid of smoking a ciggy because there are only so many in a pack? No, dude! You chief that mf because you bought it and you want to. Are you worried about running your AC or hot water heater because you are putting wear and tear on it and will have to replace it sooner? No, this is America. Turn your AC on, put on a sweatshirt if your cold (while keeping the AC pumping), and keep the hot showers flowing. YOU PAY THE BILLS

I agree. Not sure what the preach is though.

I was just saying to the guy saying he drives it and drives it and doesn’t care (which is good) that I found it weird that his boast of miles is still TINY and barely driven so it didn’t make sense to me..

Oh. No, just work too much and nowhere to go

Saying that ‘never driving it’ still adds up to 3k/yr
