Why does my Ferrari “bloop”?

Hi guys,

Over the course of the past 10 years I’ve googled and wondered but never got to the bottom of it. What is the source and reasoning behind my 2007 f430 making a blooping sound while it’s cold? Is it just to say slow down I’m still cold? Is it mechanical or is it audio? It happens at low low low speed mostly. Maybe it’s just mine (I do have a finger print in the badge from the factory which is my favorite touch). It sounds like audio from the car but it’s hard to distinguish and the only way to describe it is “bloop” lol.

 

I had two F430’s. One for two years and one for nine years and I don’t remember any bloops with either of them- drive a total of 40,000 miles between both of them too

Might be helpful if you take a small video of this and record it so we can understand what you’re trying to describe.

 

I'll bet its oil in the separator and the combination of the air oil mixture in the engine separating out with higher viscosity when cold.

 

My 430 does something that might be what the OP is describing.

When the car is cold, backing out of the driveway over the curb, or pulling onto the street out of my cul de sac, I often get a ‘woop ’ or a ‘bwoop’ sound coming from the right rear. I have assumed it was a suspension bushing squeaking until it warmed up a bit.

Any other suggested explanations welcome of course.

 

^^ Agree, my 430 when cold makes a couple of what could be described "bloop" noises from the front, going from driveway to road or first couple of bumps. Service Tech told me grease the lower shock mount bolts. Got them half out, spray grease and pushed back in, cured for a couple of years. Back now occasionally.

 

It’s due to the vehicle suspension/shocks being cold / sitting. Few mins after start up and driving it’s gone. Perfectly normal.
