Not sure when it turned 90. It touched down on us soil on 10/28. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You got the car ? Surprisingly today my dealer called me and they said the car has been cleared from the customs on its way to the dealer.
The 1:43 model is typically provided as part of the ordering process. I've read many stories of them showing up before delivery, or way after delivery. We were fortunate that it showed shortly after delivery.
Nice I might be too lol Drove gtb and i loved it, just contemplating on the V8 vs V6 move Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
well I drove it too. You wouldn't know that it is a V6 if you were not told. I think it is no sense if it is v6 or v8 in today's technology. It goes crazy and it sounds pretty good in my opinion. The handicap for me is it is just 2 seater and less practical...
Deposit placed 7-Sep-2021, order accepted 3-Dec-2021, delivery 30-Jan-2023. We drove the car home from Houston on Monday night and been iced in ever since, so not much else to report. Will be at the track this coming weekend and plan to start a thread when next week with more thoughts. Just happy to have the car home and in my workshop after 513 days of waiting. Beautiful ride, congratulations. Wish you 1,000's of joyful memorable miles. I have so many questions on your garage. It doesn't look like a car garage. Do you park your full size RV here, besides your cars?
Congratulations!! Enjoy in good health! Beautiful spec! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thanks for the kind words! It's a helicopter hangar, an artifact from a previous owner of my property. I turned it into a workshop for the cars.
Love the colour - could you post some more pictures please when the weather's better - and of the semi-aniline interior? Congratulations!
Thinking of buying a Portofino or Portofino M. Will be my first Ferrari. Any advice on a fair target price for a rosso corsa? Also, would like some tips on how much to set aside for annual maintenance.
Annual maintenance is included in the first seven years for FCars these days (so that cost is already priced in). That does not include tires or other normal wear bits. I've not heard of any brakes wearing out in the first decade on Cali T or Porto. Given the number of cars available for sale (77 Porto nationwide USA, 42 Porto M in Autotrader; and 37 combined via official dealers, see https://preowned.ferrari.com/en-US/r/north-america/used-ferrari/usa/ferrari-portofino/rfcm ) one may get a price sense from seeing the asking prices there. Guessing you are in SoCal, I would recommend going to Ferrari Newport Beach (or other dealer if my guess on your location is wrong) and discussing what you desire as a step to learn about cars bought through the dealer versus elsewhere.
Yes, I'm in Southern California. I might pop into the Newport Beach dealer and discuss the ins-and-outs of the Porto, since the goal is to get one as a 50th birthday present to myself. For me, I'm willing to go through a dealer just to get that added layer of security in terms of the car being serviced prior to taking ownership of it. I'm not looking to save a few bucks private party only to find out there are major issues down the road.
My only advice is get the Porto M if your budget allows. It is a meaningful upgrade over the base Porto.
If you go to the Ferrari website tagged above, you can see the variety of Portos available from SoCal dealers all on one page. That will help you learn where all the dealers are. Dealers also may know of cars soon to be available in their client pool, such as from someone about to get a new car delivery and wanting then to shed a car. I worked with Ferrari Newport Beach (FNB) and Ferrari Beverly Hills for a few months until a car that matched my desires became available. I bought a 2016 Cali T from Ferrari Newport Beach four years ago, the car was local from new sold by FNB with one owner before me. Relations with the dealer have continued well, I have a deposit in for a Roma Spider now. I enjoy some dealer social events also. And I have been pleased with the FNB service wing for over a decade since they helped me occasionally on earlier Fcars. While out-of-state cars may satisfy California smog, I am more comforted by purchasing from a dealer in California so as to avoid smog certification surprises. And I like the dealer inspection process for used car sales.
