Wow. Lando is really knackered. (I’m watching a recording).
Yes, and the reason for the mistake unknown to him at the time of the statement is that the tire warmer on the front left wasn’t plugged in. Therefore tire ‘not up to temp’ issue, therefore no grip on the front, therefore running deep.
Sainz got balked at the start by Tsunoda's lousy start, that let Perez past. Decent recovery by using an early start. Seems odd that Alonso couldn't get around the Haas even with DRS, but Leclerc couldn't get around Alonso when both had DRS.
LOL, if I had the money and the skill I would have been one of those grease monkeys. I love the Uber US muscle power in the back of an Italian sports car. Call me a glutton.
Charles has now taken the blame for the poor qualifying, credit to him for doing so. Short post race interview on F1 official site. You might have to go through one ad first. https://www.formula1.com/en/video/i-was-probably-the-one-to-blame-leclerc-walks-back-tyre-criticism.1810909457595361681
Race by brace the Powered by Honda story moves toward the ultimate defeats. Today we saw P2, 10, 12 and 18. Two podiums for the papaya sparks have them chugging along in the constructors lead and Max is getting reeled in on the drivers champoinship.
Well that was dull. No safety car to spice things up! Where are all the Lando haters to tell us Piastri is the next Messiah. Lando properly schooled him today - and everyone else. Perez once again showed his aweful skills to the max. Finishing behind Hulk in the Haas and barely ahead of Colapinto in the Williams? Shambles. Great job by Max to drag the RB to second. Outperformed the car again. And cunning strategy from team RB to get Dani Ric to bag fastest lap, taking away a crucial point from Lando and helping Max inch closer to the WDC. No one is catching him unless he DNFs soon…
Could have been better, could have been worse. Lando almost blew it a could of times. It seems to be a weak spot with him. Piastri seems far more focused. I really find night racing to be unnecessary...it adds nothing to the sport.
The night racing in Asia and the Middle East is there to ensure a more favourable time slot with Europe. But I agree, it adds nothing.
Tonight, Duchessa ,usually well informed, said there wasn’t a technical problem with the tire warmer. Leclerc and Sainz outlaps were just out of the temperature window for the tyres. A shame..
I don’t have issue with placing accountability where it belongs. There is photo and video of the tire warmer unplugged.
So in reality, Piastri has been gaining ground (points gained) and Perez has been losing ground (not gaining points) for the WCC title. Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
Max Verstappen said after the Singapore Grand Prix that his punishment for swearing in a news conference could speed up his exit from Formula 1.
Hello, where do you get your information? On fox news?? Have you seen my post, just a few posts back with link to video of Charles post race admitting it was his mistake? No need for nonsense conspiracies.
I saw his interview. Maybe it was 100% him. Have you ignored the pics and videos of the tire warmer unplugged? Do you always believe the narrative being fed to you. Perhaps you are a fan of CNN. We know if LeClerc messses up he’s the first one to blame himself. Additionally we know if the team did something as stupid as not plug in the tire warmer (which we know they’re capable of) LeClerc may still take the blame sparing the team ridicule. You’re so personally vested in this. Why, did you bet your firstborns life on it or something. Have drink and relax.
You still ignore the video and pics of the tire warmer? I don’t have a preference on if it’s true or not however it seems to be a possibility. There’s no need for you to be so deeply disturbed by this. Did you forget your meds today?
No meds, not disturbed, just concerned about the immediate rush to play two bit detective and dive into nonsense. Over and out.
It was a post that I saw from F1 journal I follow. It came to me. Others here saw the video. Why do you care so much? I’ll Venmo you some money to pay someone to hug you. Then you can sleep.
Red Bull being corrupt again and using VCARB to steal a point from Norris. In 2021 AT drivers also helped Verstappen during the race. It's unfair to other teams. Red Bull shouldn't have a Team B.
Ferrari disaster in qualifying: wrong strategy on warm-up and tire blankets to blame | Singapore GP The tire blanket issue weighed heavily on Charles Leclerc in qualifying Ferrari squandered a great result. Round 18 of the 2024 Formula 1 championship becomes tough for the Maranello team. Meanwhile, Lando Norris took pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix. The Englishman capitalized on a perfectly balanced car with minimal corrections. Piastri, however, made a mistake at the final chicane, failing to manage tire overheating at the end of his push. The Australian suffered oversteer coming out of Turn 17, likely costing him a front-row start. As mentioned, Ferrari made a mess. They practically didn’t show up in Q3. The Maranello car was balanced but failed to manage tire temperatures well. Carlos Sainz had to wait too long at the pit exit, causing his tire temperatures to drop, and he couldn’t activate the proper grip on the out-lap. Added to this was Leclerc’s issue, where a problem with the left tire blanket caused him even more difficulty. The wrong preparation phase prevented the tires from following a proper hysteresis cycle, compromising both drivers before they could even complete their lap. Charles Leclerc struggled with rotation in Turn 1, sending his car off the track at Turn 2. Carlos Sainz, meanwhile, lost the rear in acceleration after Turn 18, crashing into the wall while still in the launch phase. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen took advantage of others’ mistakes to secure the front two rows. Both optimized their setup improvements between Friday and Saturday, gaining confidence as their laps progressed. Mercedes also made further flap adjustments during qualifying, improving grip after a difficult Q1. Max Verstappen’s solid performance is immediately noticeable when looking at his mid-corner speeds. The world champion was the only one able to maintain a pace close to the McLaren duo, who proved to be the fastest overall in Q3. The data from Ferrari’s drivers comes from Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc’s Q2 laps. It’s clear how the two “Carlos” wasted the chance to start from the front row. Charles maintained the fastest average in the medium-slow corners, but the tire blanket issue weighed heavily on him. Not being able to prepare his tires properly robbed the Monegasque of the chance to replicate and improve on his Q2 lap to fight for a better race position. The layout of the Marina Bay circuit features several straights, offering teams the option to choose different setups. Mercedes opted to maximize straight-line performance, sacrificing some cornering speed. On the main stretches, Hamilton and Russell consistently maintained better averages. However, they showed difficulty mid-corner, with a growing delta as the corners required more aerodynamic work.
