It’s too easy for us to criticize. I think we should start taking action right here on F-Chat and make a check list for The Scuderia. I’ll kick it off with a couple of things. 1. Plug in tire warmers 2. Make sure track is not wet before putting on dry tires and conversely ensure the track is wet before putting on intermediate tires In all seriousness though, I cannot imagine the challenge of herding cats within the Scuderia. Also perhaps they can weed out some who are more concerned about their CV than actually performing well.
Well there is this lol https://forbesmorocco.com/2024/09/21/stellantis-chair-john-elkann-faces-75-million-euro-seizure-in-alleged-tax-fraud-case/ Stellantis Chair John Elkann Faces 75 Million Euro Seizure in Alleged Tax Fraud Case "High-profile Italian Business Leader Faces Legal Scrutiny Over Tax Evasion Allegations Linked to Exor Holdings"
I saw that yesterday, but decided not to post it here to send the tifosis into a frenzy. Bully for you doing it !!!
Horner’s nonsense excuse. Hardly a swan song to finish his final race dead last, down a lap, and changing to softs to get fastest lap for which he couldn’t/didn’t even earn a point for.
Ricciardo did set the fastest race lap ever recorded in Singapore. That will definitely stay on the books.
What Horner has to do with it ? It may mean nothing to you, but a lot to Ricciardo to have scored a Fastest Lap. What has he done to you, for Christ's sake to make you so dismissive ???
Mclaren decided not to pit Norris for the fastest lap as its main focus was bringing the car home. Mclaren didn't want Norris to get stuck behind backmarkers.
Absolutely And the Piastri win in Hungary without team orders in front of Norris is a lot more dommageable in the end.. Just imagine Norris losing WDC because of six points missing..
If ONLY Merc had a B team in 2021 season, or Abu Dahbi to hold up Max. And Sir Lewis Hamilton won the championship. Would you find fault with that?. If ONLY Merc had a B team who aided Sir Lewis Hamilton to break records. Would you champion that? Would Sir Lewis Hamilton's titles be lessened for that?
Didn't Perez hold up Hamilton at Abu Dhabi or was that Bahrain? Alonso held up Hamilton in Hungary for 10 laps so Ocon could win the race. Bottas has held up rival drivers for Hamilton when they were teammates. And your point is what again? P.S. I find a team-mate holding up another rival driver is a very tactic move during a race. Get used to it buddy, this is F1.
No. I'm talking about a top team who has a B team that is used to aid a championshipship contender. Meaning that 3 cars are helping one driver win a championship. Not random drivers in a race defending people.
What's the difference? Whether one driver holds up a rival or out of those 2 teams one driver holds up a rival or snatches the FL from their rival.
The difference is no other team has a B team to help alter a championship. Mclaren didn't have a B team in Singapore to try any tactics with. But the question is would you champion Sir Lewis Hamilton and Merc if they'd done this since 2014 and Abu dhabi if they could. And would his championships be lessened for it?
Mclaren had a chance to go for the FL in Singapore but opted out of it. Norris at one point built a 25sec gap to Max. There's your answer. Guess what, Mercedes have done tactics like using their 2nd driver for such tactics. No, it wouldn't lessen his(Hamiltons) titles. Also, MercedesAMGF1 have used a "spicy" engine in Brazil during sprint qualifying, sprint race and qualifying and race since Hamilton took a 40 spot grid penalty for the new upgrades. Mercedes could have brought that spicy engine practically to ever race, taken the grid penalty and most likely would have won the race...but didn't.
Imagine the reaction here had this been Ferrari chasing RedBull and not Mclaren. The case for 'collusion' exists even a weak one. Its apparent this was poorly thought out and appeared to be a spur of the moment idea as the race was ending. I think Mclaren make a good point to have it looked at. No formal protest but a discussion overall. Same as the Mini DRS which was NEVER FORMALLY protested.
You're not getting it. It doesn't matter whether you have a B-team or not to go against your rival. Mercedes had proved that. (that you don't need a B-team) As well as other teams in the past.
Well, you and a couple of others, stated it was unsportsmanlike to have a B-team and do what Ricciardo did at Singapore2024. Guess what guys, YOU DON'T NEED A B-TEAM TO DO WHAT RICCIARDO DID or SLOW DOWN YOUR RIVAL!!! On top of that, Mclaren had a choice to do a FL but opted out of it.
