Sound is not so good (with the stock starter, it's just like cranking an old airplane), but that's it. With these modern starters you can crank the engine without ignition for 30 seconds in order to prime the engine (and still have ton of juice left in the battery). No vapour lock, no more need to replace the battery every two years, no need to remove manifold in order to install it, does not make the occasional "clong" when cranking, and the solenoid does not draw as much current which greatly relieves the neiman. I've tried FerrariStarters and WOSP. Both were really nice (the later being my favourite).
Then you can try to source an ISKRA starter as these tractors were using the same starter, but for much longer, ans their latest evolution had a more beefy winding. I just don't remember where I got the information, but I quoted the reference : ISKRA AZJ 3123 !
