I have been living and driving Ferrari in EU and it's been a safe, fun and positive experience overall. I have 2 Ferraris on order with US dealer and relocating to the US next year. Last week I was on the Ferrari tour in France and there was another American participant who sold his US car and only keeps the one in EU now because he said there were too many issues with people on the road and general safety using the car extensively.

Anybody else have bad experiences in the US? Any issues driving Ferraris on longer trips to various states?

He had " too many issues with people on the road and general safety using the car extensively", really? If he said he had a bad experience, well I guess that can happen, but having too many issues sounds like it is a problem with him, not others.

I've driven my 612 almost 60,000 miles around the US. From Massachusetts I've driven to Florida multiple times, out to Arizona and back, Colorado and back, and just this month to Illinois and back, plus 3 trips to Canada. I've done 12,000 miles on my FF around the northeast and Canada. So with some 72,000 miles I can say not only have I not had an issue, vitually everyone I've encountered have been positive. They come and talk about the car, ask respectful questions, ask to take a picture (if it's a kid I'll tell them to get in the car and I'll take their picture), or simply signal a thumbs up.

It's rare, but I've seen some Ferrari owners, and other exotic owners, who act like an ass and they get the same back at them.;)

No problems here, but situational awareness is always a good thing. I once missed an exit and ended up in the town of East St. Louis. The car I was driving was worth more than the surrounding city blocks combined.

Stay out of MurderTown and you'll be fine.

    Reminds me of the joke-

Texan bragging: I can be in my truck all day and not reach the end of my property.

Okie: You know, I used to have a truck like that. :)

I travel across the country monthly. (Not in my 348)There will be no problem unless you cause it. Mostly people will just wave at you and take pictures of your car. I did just drive my new 348 from Boise ID to Carlsbad CA 14 hours. Nothing but smiles, and bad weather. Just my experience anyway.
I’m in TX right now, I was in Florida yesterday.
    I hope you have fun

The answer is it depends where you will be driving. I wouldn’t take the F or Lambos to certain cities given the strong negative responses regardless of “how you are driving it”.
Parking or for dinner or events etc can be worrisome in said areas. These things are magnets attracting both welcome and unwelcomed attention.

There is one thing I do when driving to a city/area that I am not familiar with, and can't find much info about potential bad/good areas of the town. I look at google maps and find the areas that have the nicer hotels, restaurants and higher end businesses. When I decide where I will be spending the majority of my time for lodging/dinning, I do a google map street view to double check what the area looks like. It's not necessarily a 100% guarantee, but I typically have good results.

Unless things have drastically changed in past 10 years, I drove and still driving (1k miles last week) my 575 100,000+ miles in 46 States, sometimes staying in questionable situations, and never had a problem. On second thought, I have been pulled over a few times for 5-10 mph over by cops who wanted to see the car and one time by a small town cop on I-10, West Texas who was a real jerk. 1AM, pouring rain, "what kinda car is this? How much does it cost? What kinda job do you do? Where are you headed? (San Diego) blah...blah...

How does one know? Is there a street sign signalling its beginnings or what?
I got lost once in Boston/MA and suddenly was in a not so nice suburb but it seems I survived.

One time I was in east St.Louis with my Dad (god rest his soul). We were in his 7 series that he just got and we missed the exit (that's how you end up in east st louis by the way). We were turning around and we got into a right turn only lane and needed to go straight but there was a car in the left lane. My dad rolled his window down and asked the guy if he could get into his lane when the light turned green because we needed to go straight and the guy said "Man, with that car, you can do whatever the fuk you wanna do"

It was hilarious and we drove on when the light turned green. Great memory. Avoid East St Louis though OP

If I remember correctly, East St Louis is on the Illinois side of the Mississippi river. Has been a long time since I have been in that area of the country, so not sure where it is safe anymore.

I have driven my pista up and down the east coast of the USA. No issues, people wave and ask questions. I attempt to stay in nice places with garage parking or tight security monitoring 24/7. I also try to remember this is why I pay insurance, for just in case something happens. I'm not looking for anything to happen though.

first of all, the usa is very big and very variable by location.
i have driven all over the country in various cars, and there are many good areas for driving and parking. and then there are certainly very many bad areas for both.

if you have not lived or visited the usa too much, you need to brush up on locations prior to going there in a ferrari or you will get in trouble.
but become aware, and use the usual caution, and you will be ok.
