Exactly, Ferrari can't just leave Mclaren and copetitors bragging their tons of downforce and still be happy with low DF good efficieny marketing.
As of now, even more than 0-100, 0-200, real petrolhead, street racers, pilot customers or press media reviewers look at DWF kg @ 200-250 kph.
Time to finally load up huge wings without any fear, at least on super cars and VS, while leaving good efficiency, low downforce, low drag for the GT and elegant range.

I wonder if Ferrari will have a special solution for the sound of the V6. The halo should shout nicely, regardless of the engine config.

I expect they will ensure the cockpit sound is good - extra hisses, flutters and swooshes from the turbos/blow off valve. I don’t have high hopes for tailpipe sound and volume - blame the regulators. Would be nice if they offer a unique exhaust solution (no GPFs, louder) for the US and other markets that don’t need to comply with the Euro rules but it’s unlikely they’ll invest in two systems.

More likely, vertical position and angle of attack of the wing is what makes it neutral with respect to the incoming flow, i.e. it produces the minimum drag.

DF is just a number, like weight. What matters to all of them is actual performance, as attested by the stopwatch.

Less weight + more downforce (on demand) = better actual performance

What ultimately matters is the driving experience

All these metrics make up the performance envelope, but in reality it is more complex than just adding power-downforce and subtracting weight. That is why F1 teams go back to previous aero packages some times, with less downforce, as this gives better balance and ultimately quicker lap times. How much power/downforce/weight one car has should not matter to the client, even though they make interesting top trump facts at the pub. How the car actually performs (and feels, as you rightly said) should!

Have you driven a 992 GT3 on good UK roads? Huge downforce with trick on the fly suspension is a game changer. It's the most fun and best car i have ever driven on the road.

No, but I have experienced the GT4 RS. Amazing motorcar, I 'd have to say; a motorsport simulation, if you may. Still, not a supercar experience; perhaps a supercar experience from the era of the F430. Back then though, a 500 HP 430 meant a lot and I was amazed when I first tasted it...

That post/article suggested 1300hp and 0-200 km/h in 5s. That’s a number. Can’t believe it’s true (can’t read the language so don’t know if it’s credible). Imagine though. Would have to have 4wd for that surely?

My first really nice car was a 996 C4S. 0-100 km/h in 5.1s. To think of twice the speed in less time is unfathomable. It can’t be correct. It would be 27% less than a LaF?! That would be smaller than LaF to Enzo (34%) but with the law of diminishing returns it would be an astounding figure if true.

So was the intro of this latest ‘swoosh’ wonder always planned to coincide with F250, or did they adjust their timing thinking they’ll upstage or distract from the Ferrari intro?

What do you think? Most likely another Nike ‘swoosh’ themed design with generic Ricardo V8.

Clearly both together is not coincidental but who adjusted their schedule (we have previously seen launch & production a long way apart) is another story and more pertinently which will be first with customers (and when) - also it should be noted that the traditional theory is that a double release will usually gather greater than double the coverage

if they reach 1200+ps with that v8, they either have huge turboes or they added 3 or so electric motors, I which case they will never be able to be that light as rumored.
In case they added turbos I don't see them being able to justify 2 m price even if the number of units is less that 100.
