And this is why it’s important to maintain your tires and insure proper air pressures and monitor tire temps. Don’t buy your tires from wish . com
I would say at that speed the car didn't look as bad as expected. Did they get out alive as the cabin area looked ok
So let me get this straight. He’s going full throttle in a car where he surely did not have the tires checked or at optimal, filming himself, with a passenger, and I think going through a tunnel. Kind of sad he made it.
Sometimes, things just happen. Several years ago, I was with my family travelling in my minivan (please save the jokes, it was great for travelling with kids, lol) I had Michelin Aqua tread tires on it, and they probably only had about 5-10,000 miles on them. They were in perfect condition (visually), and I'm a stickler for tires. I check my pressures often, and before every long trip. I checked the tires immediately before driving away, and the pressures were perfect. I then got on the highway and was travelling at about 70mph. After driving for no more than 20 minutes, I got a complete blow out of the right rear tire! It was the first blowout that I've had in my whole life (36 years of driving at that point). The sidewall got shredded, there was no failure on the tread surface, and no puncture anywhere. I still don't know why that happened. Unfortunately, it's not always user error, but I agree that it usually is.
I recently bought a 488 spider. The rear tires were replaced and 3.5 years old.....the fronts? Oringinal at 6+ years old! HUH???? Driving at the speeds we hit in our cars?? Replace only the back tires to save $700 bucks....stupid. Immediately replaced all four with fresh (checked the DOT numbers) Michelins ps4s. I don't get that peeps don't comprehend the tire is the only part of the car touching the road. Endangering his passenger that way and others on the road. Who'd he hit head on? Just lack of awarness...
