pop pop pulled what little weight he still has in the sport to prevent a suspension I guess. RCR hasn't won a championship since 1994, that whole team can go away as far as I care.
I'll give them credit for giving Bowyer his start, but hell, even Kyle Busch can't drive their crappy cars. Outperformed weekly by smaller teams.
dirt track legend Scott Bloomquist has died in a plane crash. for those that don't know he was the Earnhardt or John Force of dirt track late model racing, and a very.....interesting character. Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
Does NBC realize CW isn’t HD? At least, not in my market. I guess they don’t care since they aren’t covering racing next year……
Michael Jordan/23XI is suing NASCAR for anti-competitive practices and monopolistic control of the sport. Teams aren't making any money
yes, they want a bigger piece of the TV money pie. rightfully so IMO if you read the lawsuit (link below), it costs $18mm/yr in operating cost per year to field a Cup car, not including driver compensation. Charters are what, $25mm now? that's a big nut it is amusing that you have a billionaire (MJ) suing another billionaire (France family) over unfair business practices, but such is life https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/nascar-monopoly-antitrust.pdf
MJ should move to IndyCar. Walter Payton gave it a go teaming with Dale Coyne . . . then he got sick.
MJ has been a nascar guy his whole life (grew up in NC) I miss Walter died the day after Greg Moore. that was a ****ty week.
They had the Big One at Talladega with only a few laps to go, and it involved 28 cars! Call it the Huge One! https://www.si.com/nascar/historic-nascar-crash-wipes-out-nearly-entire-field-at-talladega
inching closer to NASCAR's goal of taking the entire field out in one crash! btw, the winner margin was 0.006 seconds. that's the third closest finish this year
These close finishes are not exactly thrilling. Especially when they are 3 wide for multiple laps and each lap they swap the lead by inches. This is not racing. I remember my last time at Talladega back in April 00. Last time I saw the Man too.
I was at 'Dega when Ricky Craven tore down the catch fence. 1996. he landed on top of Jeff Gordon, IIRC no clue who won the race but yes I agree these manipulated g/w/c "close finishes" are a bit silly. they're the bondo that covers up how awful the Next Gen cars have been.
Same one that Dale almost got killed in too. This wreck is what caused him to suffer through a couple of years of bad results until he got his back fixed. 2000 was good and 2001 was going to be a championship until it wasn't.
2PAC conference as well as some ACC games. When 2PAC becomes PAC-st8, it's expected to stay on the CW.
