ANY IDEA WHERE TO FIND THE CAP FOR A '76 EURO DUAL POINT DISTRIBUTOR? TWO COILS. I ONLY WANT A MAGNETTI MARELLII. THANX steve
Great shout, some of the copies that are floating around have a nasty habit of melting. But I note that no prices are shown on the website, I'm guessing they will be priced in kidneys or first born children.
Eurospares are showing ‘genuine Ferrari part’ ones arriving imminently guessing that could be a magnetti marelli but they will be able to confirm https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Parts/95300045/Ferrari?pi=48818
The one at Saxon has sold. Reproductions are readily available and I already have one and I believe it is failed after 15 minutes. I hope to verify this soon. More later. thanx s
This is getting to be a problem with the 4 cylinder ones (2x for a car) for the 308 too. My regular go to sources have repros that fail right out of the box.

Or this place...seems NOS... https://reoriginals.com/distributorcapnosmarellialfamontreal-e0169.aspx
I’m not sure $200 ish gets you a genuine MM cap for the S127 single dizzy. I’ve got a couple NOS ones and they were well over $500 each. Maybe I over paid. But the genuine caps have a more robust set of cheesehead screws locked into them. The repros, coincidentally, have really cheesy screws not really locked in.

Thank you all for this tremendous amount of information. Unfortunately, the distributor cap at Dino parts is incorrect for my needs. I have found only one genuine MM distributor cap, and it was at Saxon. Apparently, they found another one, €1000!! That makes it about eight times the cost of a reproduction cap. I may also see if Jim Simpson @ODD Parts can salvage my existing MM cap since it does not have any cracks. I will post the results when I know more. Although it does not seem helpful at the moment, this is the same distributor and cap as an Alfa Romeo Montreal (a car I also really love!). Thanx Again. s
My original M-M distributor cap was definitely in bad shape, but I also think that perhaps one of my condensers is bad. Working on that now, and will report back. thanks again Steve (I settled on one of the many repro distributor caps available, at least for the moment) s
Try Superformance https://www.superformance.co.uk/308/ignition.html I have bought items from them before and received OEM parts. Might be worth an email to find out if they stock the magnetti marelli
No afil, but these look NOS to the ones on my two dry sump cars… https://www.ebay.com/itm/333494649310?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=NrZtWNCQTgC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=zNJLqep6QPm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Ultimately, I used a really nice repro cap from GT Car Parts. in Az. Very fairly priced and I found the two life-saving Magneti-Marelli condensers at AllFerrariParts.. They also had an OEM/NOS distributor cap for a fair price, but I didn't really need it. Finally, solved the saga of the malevolent cylinder bank for holes 1 to 4 consistently misfiring. Case closed. Lessons larned. thanks again, Steve.
