I know there must be a few well sorted 456 on FChat. Mileage is unimportant. Records very important. Will consider manual or auto. Will consider any year. I intend to drive this car very regularly, so it doesn’t make much sense for me to pay up for a low mileage garage queen.
Smart man. Way to be. If I sold my 2003M GTA (which will never happen) I would simply put it up for sale at the cost of the last four years of restoration & maintenance to get it absolutely perfect mechanically and cosmetically. It’s currently at Bobileff for some odds & ends. So that’s $89k and a perfect 30k mile Ferrari comes FREE with 3 inches of records from the best shops you know. I will say some shop receipts have more credence than others. At 18k miles when I bought it, it had $30k worth of garbage work done to it already by bad shops. Suffice it to say after you get it right, it is hard to let it go at market prices unless you need cash or room. Anyway, I bet you come out on top. Image Unavailable, Please Login
While I don't disagree with your statement, but anyone with a clean 456/456M takes one look at this comment: will not be interested in selling. Pick TWO out of three: cheap, quality, records (unlikely to have all three in the 456 world)
Man that is a GREAT idea ! It has actually been over 4 years. I would say +/- $12-$15k was trash work I paid for and then had redone. Add another 25 man hours or so of fruitless diag time or mis daig. Plus the man hours of the shop that actually finds the problem. These things are actually extremely hard to get right. I try to daily it. I will keep my eyes open for the OP.
I have a great 456M 6 speed available to me, Rosso Barchetta with tan, records, books, tools, fresh major. Call me at 1.858.622.1600 Gary Bobileff Bobileff Motorcar Company in San Diego
Perhaps you missed the “low mileage” component of that sentence. “Quality” and “Records” do not necessarily equate with “low mileage”. I did not state anywhere that I was looking for a “cheap” 456; though I will not pay a premium for low mileage. You inferred incorrectly. Make sense?
Oh man, Rosso Barchetta is by far my favorite color on these + 550/575M’s by a MILE. BAT seems to agree. What a dream spec. I once called a local dealer who had sold a 1999 Barchetta GTA with Daytona’s in an effort to make an offer on to it’s owner at the time. This was when first I started my 456 hunt. No dice. I would buy from Bobileff sight unseen. Good luck OP. Good timing for this car to pop up at this place.
I have a 1995 456GT, Rosso Monza with tan interior, sorry it is low miles though at 27K. Full luggage set, presently with 575 style 19" wheels, the mint condition OEM 17" wheels will go with the car. Currently has Tubi mufflers, I did have Braden straight pipes installed but I did re-install the OEM resonator to quiet it down a bit (it was way too loud). The Braden pipes will go with the car. It also has OEM Euro downpipes with no catalyst, I still have the North American OEM pipes w/catalyst that came with the car. I also have a full set of factory Service and Parts manuals. Lots more to go with car, but will list out later for interested parties. It was Robert 'Bob' Petersen's personal car, he started Hot rod mag and the Petersen museum (his info is all in the warranty book). I'm the third owner, and have owned the car for 13 years. I was a Ferrari dealer parts manager for 9 years so it got everything it needed, and more. If you want to know more, send me a pm Thanks Scott Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've been searching for much the same--planning to drive 3k-5k miles per year, and am primarily focused on maintenance and records. Definitely am looking for an automatic. I'm wary of the 456s with only a few hundred miles total over the past 10 years--much prefer a regularly driven car. No worries about a few stone chips--I think of that as patina!
Guys, Have two 456Ms available right now; one ‘99 M/GTA in Blu NART over Cuoio Sella with 43K-ish miles and an ‘02 M/GT in Verde Zeltweg over Tan with about the same mileage. The Verde car has a pretty comprehensive history file with it, the Blu NART not so much, but has served as a fine driver. PM me and we can discuss. Both cars located in Cincinnati.
I have available to me a 456M Rosso Barchetta red with tan interior, tan steering wheel, Daytona style seats, 20,000 miles, fresh major service, tons of records, books, tools, window sticker, a great car, call me for more info Gary Bobileff Bobileff Motorcar Company in San Diego 1.858.6221.1600 [email protected]
