Got a call from my dealer offering an extended coverage plus hybrid which includes a scheduled replacement of the battery after year 8 with a new one. Cost is for purchasing a new vehicle.

    2 year- $18k
    3 year- $26k

If you buy it after new car purchase,

    2 year- $24,750
    3 year- $35,050

    Thoughts and experiences on this?

    Thanks!

What part of the world are you located and what dealer told you this? The price should be the same no matter when you buy the warranty. Also, the hybrid is already a 7 year warranty, so the 2 year extension does not extend that portion. It just adds 2 years to the 3 year factory bumper to bumper warranty.

Yes, sort of. There was a lot of confusion when they announced everything but it was clarified later on. The car comes with 3 year bumper to bumper. The hybrid system is included in that. The car also comes with 4 additional years of hybrid warranty (it is the 4 year HV system extension). You can add additional years to the bumper to bumper, just as you could with prior models. Ferrari is now offering hybrid warranty for year 8 and beyond.

    Is this correct?

"The car comes with 3 year bumper to bumper. The hybrid system is included in that. The car also comes with 4 additional years of hybrid warranty (it is the 4 year HV system extension). For 7 year total include for free."

Ferrari Presents Two New Extended Warranty Programs:
    • Warranty Extension Hybrid: extends the warranty on the hybrid components to 8 years
    • Power Hybrid: extends both the powertrain and the hybrid components from 8 to year 16 years

Both programs guarantee clients that, in case of future developments in battery technology, the replacement HVB will be a new, state-of-the-art component that will ensure the same performance as the original one.

    Year 8, 9 — $18k — 2-year extension from the factor 7-year battery warrant
    Year 8, 9, 10 — $26k — 3-year extension from the factor 7-year battery warranty
on so on, prices higher if included after the sale.

Super confusing, I’m not going to buy anything, it’s just peace of mind for reselling I think
