I don’t have any past halo cars from Ferrari. This one is first and I am not new buyers. 15 years. I am skeptical too but what can I do.

15 years of die hard trying got me a V6…

can not get over this, so I bought Veyron Grand Sport yesterday before the reveal.

I found a solution. Just don't look at it from the front. All other angles are ok. If stored in a garage, owners must park it nose in first. And why doesn't it have center locks?

Bringing a car to life is a very significant interaction between a driver and a vehicle. Yet in the F80, it's reduced to a flat, digital surface. For a car priced at 3 million euros, that moment should feel far more extraordinary. It should be a tactile, human experience, something you can actually feel in your fingertips and mechanically push, sending signals to your brain that you are connected to something extraordinary. I just don't get it why they kept the start/stop button digital while making the other buttons physical. After all, starting up a car is not just a functional step; it is the very first connection between the driver and the car. Ferrari should have done this better.

in that carwow video they said that Ferrari have deliberately made it look bad as to not annoy the clients who've bought 1 off custom models they comissioned, sounds nuts if true

Both , Design absolutely crap. VC6 if I wanted that and a Hybrid there is the 296.

At least Porsche, Maclaren and the rest are all smart. Ferrari is no longer what it was. End

I feel the same way about the new Mac replacement for the P1. To me Pagani understands what at hypercar should be. Great engineering and materials but with something that pleases the eye.

The LaFerrari is clearly better looking. And I would argue the F50 is better looking than LaFerrari. So its another step backwards starting from the 288GTO

I think some of the things, like the aluminum printed suspension, are ridiculously cool. The interior just looks like a jumble. Like the person who designed the suspension should have been the person designing the interior. Pagani would never have made it this way.

Is it an amazing machine? Absolutely on about every level -- of performance. Of art? Not so much.

One thing is for certain, it’s not getting a good reception online.

Most comments I'm seeing are negative. Lol, the V6 is getting lots of hate :D

Initial impression isn't good. The Lego comparisons are true. Not really surprised because it's been some time since Ferrari produced a truly pretty car.

And a halo car with a V6? At least the XJ220 was beautiful.

The f40 and the 288 GTO were not art in their days either.

And plenty were upset that it was based on the 308....

And then the f40 kept the damn engine.
.they didn't use the flat 12 in those halo cars despite the flat 12 being in the flagship car...

It's almost like... It's always been this way... People just forgot.

The Enzo in the lineage of these cars will be meaningless.
It wasn't based on any motorsport... It's ugly. It never raced.

At least the laf is beautiful.

The f40 had become iconic but there was a good 20 year span where it was a rough wild car with slidey windows and no carpet.

People called the f50 the biggest disappointment until about 18 months ago.

It will be interesting to see how much profit will
be made in the aftermarket for the F80

If the USA MSRP starts at 3.9M, add options and taxes /fees , and now the cost is 4.4M.

As a reference, what does the LaFerraris fetch these days?

    [

La Ferrari sells for 4-5x retail iirc so for the f80 to get to that would have to be trading for 16-20m usd….

One would have thought that after such a poor reception of the black nose strip on the 12c, Ferrari would accept the voice of the people and never repeat this mistake. Seems Manzoni has dug his heels in and has chosen to force this look onto future models untill such point the critics concede.

im sorry but the 288Gto is one of the best Ferrari designs ever of the super car series.

I get this car and I don’t. If I had the choice of dating a fashion model with the brains of Einstein or Einstein, guess which one I would take.

I would enjoy a time out with both, but prefer one over the other.

Well, I didn’t call it ugly. It’s just not pretty enough. I don’t mean I don’t like it or admire it. As a piece of engineering it’s amazing.

But I’m not in love. And worse yet I’m not happy with the trend.

I make my living designing objects. Maybe I’m overly sensitive and overly emotional but I am what I am.
