That's ok. You'll learn more about the heritage.

What a silly thing to say. Are you referring to the heritage and legacy that many of us feel has been getting dragged through the mud the past few years?

Honestly I'm trying really hard. I love Ferrari and often photos just don't do their cars justice. But the F80 looks like a bunch of 12 year olds got together and drew it up last night.

SP3 owners must be relieved or laughing. SP3, Enzo, LaFerrari prices will skyrocket. The F80 looks like a mess, a complete mess in pictures & even in video. But again I love the brand I'll have to wait and see it in person. I remember seeing the F40, wow. F50 I was like meh. Enzo and LaFerrari wow! The SP3 wow!

    F80, disappointed so far.

And you can't see the engine, another visually pleasing tradition lost. Don't get me started on the center exhaust. I'm sure manufactures maybe doing this because of better packaging, performance etc. But I'll miss the more pronounced "real" pipes of the previous hyper cars. Having said that , the interior is great, unique and purposeful.

Heritage. Yes. An understanding of the company and why is does what it does.

An understanding of the company and the man behind the company... Why certain decisions are made. Why for their pinnacle car they choose these decisions.

Some of you act as if they made these decisions lightly and flippantly.

The current CEO has about as much to do with the heritage of Ferrari as the sweatshirt I'm wearing right now, no? A man whose background is in electronics/tech, who immediately decided to put an end to V12 development and state that Ferrari is not a car company but a tech company? He seems like he'd be a better fit at McLaren, or Tesla, or Rimac. It matters not that he feels justified in making these decisions, if the result is this. All sorts of people and organizations make terrible decisions that they felt at the time were the right course of action.

Well it sounds like he has a direction and that is not being left behind by the competition.

Listen I complain about 812 styling f8 styling hell even the 458 front end is awful compared to prior designs.

But the CEO isn't the end all be all on all of this. He is running the company... He isn't sketching the designs.

In my eyes it looks like a generic brand 15 years old supercar attempt.

If I understand correctly and listen to everyone, Ferrari is supposedly sinking and might be at risk of bankruptcy soon? How is it that Aston Martin and McLaren aren’t already in the same situation?

Quite the contrary, Ferrari is probably one of the most profitable car companies around.

No, but they could design a Ferrari to look like dog poo and it would still sell. Just paint it red and put a horse on it. Technically this car is amazing, although most people who purchase it will never use it to its full potential.

I am indifferent toward the design, looks like something from Lego in some respects.

I personally liked it better when they were testing it in Italy with camouflage. At least then we could dream it was beautiful underneath:D

Apparently 799 people love it, no need for more.

I'm surprised you haven't noticed by now that Ferrari's official photos never do their cars justice - at least for the last 15 years. As with any car, you have to see it in real life, in the light of day, before drawing any conclusions. You have to see it drive, see the light dancing on it.
Having been at the presentation, I found it superb and exciting, much richer in emotion than most other current hypercars that look like insects optimised in a wind tunnel.

As for those who miss Pininfarina, let them look at the horrors that PF has designed since they stopped working with Ferrari...

Is the f12 line still considered modern? Since I'm a huge viper fan I just love how viper esque the 812 was

I've had that same feeling, good to know others do as well. For me at least, after the 488, which has so much design wise in common with the 458, none of the newer cars have a lust worthy look to them, other than the Monza. But, younger people may feel different. To me, the F80 looks like a Lego designed car. I'm sure though in person, it will have a presence, it's just not poster worthy which is how I've always judged cars because I'm an "old".
