LaFerrari replacement: v12, no hybrid, less power than SF90stradale?

After seeing the F80 in different colors on the configuration I now realize what it is…it’s one of the Transformer cars!
The side view of the front fender looks like it the midst of changing or busting out.
As for the comparison to the Utopia, well let’s just say the Pagani design peaked with the Zonda

 

Genius ! NO.
Most of those on the list were created using alot of dna & Design language from the past.
Most of his designs lack cohesion.
The F80 seems to be his first major step into a very new design language.
While stunning in place overall lacks real Ferrari and Italian dna and design language and most importantly the cohesion and Beautify that made them so special.

 

I’m not sure I would say this is a ‘new’ design language. It’s kind of the same direction as the 12 C. Technical and futuristic but somehow also restrained and boring. It is lacking in sensuousness. It’s complex and racey but not sexy. It doesn’t move the viewer emotionally. It doesn’t inspire lust.

The Purosangue is actually sexy. The LaFerrari is sexy. The FXXK is technical AND sexy.

The F80 is technical, which is correct for this type of car. But it’s not sexy. Manzoni needs to alter course and quickly.

 

I have a few comments about the car.
1. It is identical to the dazzle car that has been driving around for some time. Nothing was 'unveiled' to my eye.
2. If it had a V12 it would have had a clear rear cover. 6-cylinder = nothing to see here which is terrible for this type of vehicle.
3. What the heck is with the chicken wire on the front? Do they not have chicken coops in EU?
4. I like the brakes, suspension, steering wheel and driver seat. The center console is sub-par and even looks unfinished.

The looks are what they are for a Manzoni department release. Hopefully he won't don the headset microphone and tongue lash us on its/his brilliance. But we'll see how the tech performs and the car drives. It should be commensurate with the asking price. Happy for those that are configuring theirs. A unique experience to have one in your garage.

The 12C was a small taste (intro) of what would be the first major step of a new design language on the F80. I expect the SF90 Face lift to follow on.
Yes all of that is Ferrari and Italy and its MIA. Futuristic only in a sci-fi movie prop kind of way. Not what a real future would be. To be honest it scream APPLE

Not a trick question at all. So the fact that the F80 does not have a glass engine cover has nothing to do with the V6.

 

I will agree with you. If Manzoni designed the Enzo he would have covered that mechanical wonder under some gaudy panel.

 

If you get rid of that hideous black stripe, it becomes much more bearable.

More people will like the car in time. This is one of those machines that will saturate as time passes. For me, love at the first sight already!

 

Out of those you mentioned LaF/FXXK, Pista and SP1/SP2 are the better ones. And if i recall correctly he didn't even supervised the F12 design, he just grabbed the credit of someone else's work. The tdf is ugly, 599 gto looks more cohesive and better. 488 is bland and the Pista looks more complete. Also the 488 is like a facelift of the 458 by donato coco so it is still not supervised by manzoni. He can take majority of the credit for LaFerrari/FXXK that one looked good and inline with the pininfarina lineage. The one that he is churning out right now is really unimaginative. Mish-mash of previous cars.


Like I previously stated, body colored roof instead of two tone shi-t colorways

 

It’s a technical car - an Enzo morphed by CAD into a Frankensteins monster-there is beauty in its ugliness but it’s hard to love it. It’s the opposite of LaFerrari- which mirrors its name- the female(the feline ?) essence of Ferrari design

 

I would love to see a body colored roof bar the black color to ponder how the car would look with it.
Does anybody knows if it will be allowed with the Tailor made department ?

 

He had a small mistake in painting the roof line in the first pic tha it looked like a countach/diablo roof. But the face looks so much better without that stupid looking strip

I don't know really. Manzoni said that over his dead body would this blac panels be gone. Maybe the owners will have to use a wrap in order for it to be in sync with its body color

This like the F80 all in Black is what the design needs. One overall colour.
This two tone thing has had its day. F50 no that was beautiful.
The F80 is aggressive but Bucky looking and lacking flow.

 

Agree. This is the same reason why I am not calling the F80 ugly. Manzoni doesn't use the colors properly. He 95% got it correct with the 296 but he forgot to make the headlight aero holes look understated or be cohesive with the headlight shape imho.

I think the FXXK style wheels would elevate the F80's in terms of stance on the road or track
