https://www.ferrarilakeforest.com/inventory/certified-used-2024-ferrari-296-gts-rwd-convertible-zff01sma9r0304406/ It is my first time Ferrari. What do you think about this car? Original MSRP was $420K. Only 50miles on it. No lemon car. I wish it had a racing seat though. Also no parking sensor. Any deal break options missing?
that's a pretty basic spec - hence the low MSRP. Missing carbon seats but you could say that's personal preference (assuming you don't need them in order to fit in the car as I do). Has most of the important stuff like carbon wheel, lifter, etc. GTS prices are still usually above sticker, so 10k under from a F-dealer seems like a solid deal if you like the color and options.
Looks good if you like the spec. It has pretty much all you need. Good that it’s got stock stereo. Scuderia audio has an upgrade which by all accounts will be superb. Don’t know much about the price but looks like a cancelled order so you should be able to negotiate at least free ppf but do get the ceramic put on top of the ppf. I made the mistake of not doing ppf and only ceramic and regret the choice and am now getting ceramic removed, ppf and ceramic applied. Happy motoring.
Thank you for your input. I am 6'1 with slim body. Does a racing seat fits better for slim or bigger person? I am fine with the exterior color, but wish it has more colorful inside.
looks like a real clean spec. looks to have everything you need as others have said. if you dig the storm trooper look go for it. I think it looks great on the gts.
Racing or cf seats imho. Look lovely but not as comfortable for me, I am 5’11’’ and could lose a few pounds
Thank you. Installing Scuderia audio doesn't effect any warranty? I will ask them about the ceramic and PPF.
Only performance upgrades, afaik affect warranty. I am located in london UK and specced my GTS deliberately with the stock radio. The speakers it comes with are made of paper and plastic. My installer here is also very experienced but installed alternative components (speakers and amps etc) to what Softwaredrone prefers. I have Morel and am very happy with the setup for when I fancy a quiet ride with some of my jam playing . Even at progressive speeds with roof down, my system is loud and clear
Agree with prior comments. If you like the spec, you're getting a brand new car for at minimum 10k under from a Ferrari dealer. Good luck!
I'm 6-4 and slim. The full electric seats don't provide me enough legroom, as they are thicker than the carbons. The carbons are jussstttt thin enough that I can sit comfortably in the car. Had the same issue on the 488, even though that car is slightly larger than a 296.
I am. Newbie too. First Ferrari but everyone including dealer (who use same installer) informed me that the stereo upgrade would not affect warranty but please do your own dd. I do not know what rules areregarding warranty.
I think the white is a particular look and I think it suits the car well but it is personal choice at the end of the day. I’m never a big fan of black wheels, but if you got bored of the black it’s so easy to get them refinished maybe in dark grey or something. I’m similar size to you (apart from the slim part lol) and I find the cabin super cramped so make sure you can find a good driving position.
Hi, I love it! Thanks for asking. I have posted elsewhere on the forum but here you go. For sake good order please confirm with dealer that warranty won’t be affected. There is a chat on the 296 section called base stereo which you may find helpful. You may wish to reach out to sofwaredrone to confirm he’s completed the kit (as I understand he makes plug and play kits for various Ferraris etc and you can get any reputable installer to fit it) the dash comes off so the installer needs to be top notch and experienced with Ferraris. Maybe you can ask dealer to repaint the black wheels? They will get curbed and start looking old very quickly. Over here the discounts on “new” cars - similar mileage to yours, are negotiable by about 10% lower than the list price so if you like it, negotiate hard - what’s there to lose. Does not look like it’s flying out of the door. I have also found that some dealers (mine especially) are more cooperative and proactive than others. I am very lucky to have such a great team @ H. R. Owen here in London. They ran the extra mile for me.
The spec is fine, there are people who like the white/black look; and those who don’t. It doesn’t matter too much as there are enough people who like this, that you will find a buyer if that day ever arrives. I think that day does arrive for just about everyone so it’s worth keeping in mind. “I’ll never sell” is a dangerous thought when it comes to anything because you can justify going against the market. Along those lines, the lack of the enhanced stereo is also a bit of a bummer for the eventual resale, but it seems like you are getting in at a good price today. With that said, if prices go lower, then you will be at a competitive disadvantage, becuase someone looking to spend several hundred thousand of dollars on a car will likely say they want the hi-fi stereo. Yes there is aftermarket, the fellow mentioned here seems to do a nice job, but you are almost never rewarded for anything after market, and almost always it goes against you. And yes, they might be able to say an aftermarket stereo modification could make warranty coverage into question. I think the way to approach this car is: are you good with: price, spec, fact that you will have a color spec that is pretty popular but you will get some grumbles and if/when/ the day comes to sell, you might have to take more of a discount because its missing a pretty popular option. Even though I am not a huge lover of black wheels, I think this type of spec needs them.
Thank you for your input. Is it hard to sell a ferrari car? I thought we can just bring it to any dealership or carmax?
Thank you for your help. They told me they will do PPF on the front of the car which would be bumper, hood, fenders and side mirrors. Also free shipping.
You should do your homework before buying anything substantial. In my opinion you should learn as much as possible on how you will exit. You should start by talking with your dealer about conditions in your area and how things have gone historically and where they think they will go from here.
