    Hello Fellas,

We have a 2011 458 Italia that we have been chasing this code on. We have smoke tested it and found no leakage. We have inspected the capless fuel port and do not have a sticking flap. We've replaced a complete fuel vapor filter assembly.

After 2 days the light comes back on and the same code returns.

Anyone have any idea what else it could be? We are pretty stumped with this one.

    Thanks,

    LG

Same, the vehicle runs fine. I am going to remove the flush valves (Pierburg 1-way check valves) and test them, see if they are losing vacuum. If so, then I know what to replace. If not, then I am not sure where to go after that.

I'm thinking that if you are going to remove them to test them, maybe you should just replace them. They are cheap, and will eliminate any issue if by any chance they are intermittently not working properly.
    Just thinking out loud....

I had this problem a couple of years ago. We chased it for a while but eventually replacing a part fixed it. Let me figure out the part.

Looks like it was also the fuel vapor filter assembly. I’m sorry that didn’t do the trick for you. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Actually I remembered wrong. I read through the records and we replaced that vapor filter and the code came back so a couple months later we replaced the fuel filler neck. I think that is what fixed it.

Was there anything showing the little fuel flap for the capless system sticking open? We have already tested the filler neck and havent had it stick open once.

From what I recall they inspected the filler neck early in the process and said it looked ok. I’m assuming that meant no sticking. Then we replaced vapor filter and then finally the filler neck. If you give me some time I can sift back through the notes again. I know how frustrating this can be.

Sure thing. Evap systems, even simple ones, can be VERY frustrating. In this business, you learn to just go with the flow ;)

    Hello,
I think your problem may be related to the fuel filler neck. If there is a leak in the filler neck or pipe, evaporation will occur and you may receive a fault code due to the pressure difference.

Appears to have been the wash valves. replaced both, no issues so far on a couple hundred miles

Did you check your purge valves (Wash valves) for debris? We are seeing them get contaminated with charcoal from the charcoal canister.
If you tap them on a whit towel it will look lick pepper. If the canister is contaminating the system the new valves will be damaged in the near future.
