You probably mean March 2023 although you didn't specify. 59 is from the September 2022 Cavalcade Classic. Marcel Massini
Nope, March this year, at International Amsterdam Motor Show 2024. They apparently didn't bother taking of the stickers all that time.
Nice to see what the executives buy., the holy grail of cars.. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DA3_bWLqRYD/?igsh=N3FxeDYybzc5YzRw
I would not want that car, not for any money in the world. As said so many times before, it is super important to do the homework. In this case 1988 seems to be far away for many...... 36 years ago....... Marcel Massini
They also buy F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari etc, ask me how I know. By the way, you mentioned earlier that you had purchased a higher miles GTO to take on the Tour, how did it go? My late great grandmother from a bygone era used to say "for all the tea in China..."
I would have loved to have gone, but I was at Michelotto appraising a 288 GTO for a good .friend. She was brought and off to Ferrari for a full restoration..
That is a really cool piece! I have a question related to this. The trope in almost every article and video is that the 288 GTO was not called that initially, it was just the GTO and nowhere on the car can 288 GTO be seen Even Harry said it in his video, but then he gets inside the car and he sees this behind the steering wheel: Image Unavailable, Please Login So what's the story? Are people just repeating misinformation and has it been the 288 GTO all along? This plaque seems to proof that's the case, as does the prototype rear badge.

Shame someone has replaced the tool kit with a cheap 328 version, given the value and importance of these cars all the small details should be correct. Especially given the advert states "complete with handbooks, pouch and tool kit."
People have no respect anymore. You may also want to go thru the 15'016 posts in this thread. Marcel Massini
Sure thing, right after I finish the other 500,000 threads on Fchat! Life isn't short after all, you know this already.
Your posts have been removed following a copywrite claim by Marcel Massini. You might not have been the one to initially lift them, but there are many who would usurp the work of a respected automotive historian such as Marcel and pass it off as their own. Let's graciously move on. All the best, Andrew.
Another guy saying it's not officially a 288 GTO. Nice look at the car though, but he must have missed the plaque that Harry did notice.
I've been looking for two isle of man cars, and can't decipher where either are currently, The first I have noted wearing the plate 288 MN - which appears to have seemingly vanished around 1990 and should be 56341 anyone know if it left the island? The other was wearing A288 MAN and was until as recently as 2021 in a local collection however I have this cat down as 57233 which upon a search within this forum seems to be a different car, can anyone clarify? Pic 1 is a car I spotted on the island in 2021 which unfortunately had covered plates. Pics 2 and 3 are one of each car wearing their respective isle of man plates Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
56341 left Isle of Man 1993, then to Switzerland. 57233 had numerous other plates/registrations (Italian, English) prior to A 288 MAN. Marcel Massini
Thanks for your quick response, I couldn't find a record of the Swiss car. Are you aware of 57233 leaving the island, I believe this must be the car pictured on the trailer I saw in 2021 (I also took the attached pic in the collection some years ago) I've been told by someone with close links to the collection that the 288 left sometime over last few years, in favour of newer ferrari Vs series cars, but cant see it appearing anywhere else since. See below pic for the current cars in collection Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Megaphones sound much better and help the car breathe better, using them I found the car came on-the-boost quicker and was a nicer drive.
Surely a similar performing exhaust system could or has been made that ends in double twin exhausts? It's not like the total area of the opening is much bigger?
