My question is because of the recent post regarding independent shops being able to offer repair of the PTU is the extended warranty still as needed as before, In my case it’s an old mans daily driver.
Don't know if anyone will see this but wondering about Auto Advantage as well. Considering them for a policy or another recommended 3rd party provider. Any input would be appreciated.
Transmission mentions "torque converter" - I wonder how it does translate for a DCT (and the additional PTU in case of the FF /GTC4).
I’ve got a LaSalle platinum warranty. My car is in the shop for a DCT rebuild. I can provide more feedback in a couple of weeks.
I got my car back. The estimate for the rebuild was > $25K. I paid ~$6K out of pocket due to the aforementioned items not being covered (fluids and clutches, there's a few sensors on the clutch side that were not covered). Overall the process was super easy, had the car towed (towing not covered) and then the shop coordinated with LaSalle. Once the car was ready I paid my share and drove off. I have the platinum coverage and prices are in line with what was posted in post #1. I opted for a 4 year plan
seems pretty decent, thank you for posting. I just wish that bumper to bumper actually means bumper to bumper.
They had an inspector come and check out the car at my home, went for a drive, made sure it drove straight and there weren’t any lights on the dashboard etc.
In my case I chose the shop. Not sure about dealer, it probably depends on where you are, I didn't consider the dealer in this instance.

I’ve also spoken to Hal very helpful and not pushy, Spoke to my Dealership and now there trying to manage the numbers because of Hal’s quote.
