I hope Tyson does win...in round three and with body blows. I'll give both men my respect and I hope that neither gets injured. I would like to see Mike go out on a high note. We will all know in a couple of hours.

  2. Fight was fixed.

Paul could have knocked Tyson out in the 1st round.

    All show, no blow.

The woman's fight was worth watching. Incredible performance from both fighters. Serrano won fight.....the Judges got that wrong. Serrano didn't quit coming and Taylor should have been disqualified after the 3rd (of 4) headbutts.

As to the overall promotion.......it was cheesy and slimy. The newstart MVP + Netflix seems to have struck a deal to have fixed fights that always go to the last round and sell them to the public.

The Tyson fight look like they had practiced it together. Fighting with 14 ounce gloves instead of 10 ounce gloves basically turned it into a pillow fight. You really can't hurt someone with 14 ounce gloves and it effectively negated any damage Tyson could do to Paul. A pathetic performance from both of them.

Paul, who I really can't stand made $20m off the fight and Tyson made $10m which tells you everything you need to know about carefully picking opponents and claiming you are a professional boxer.

Maybe that's how social influencers see themselves ......as rich charlatans.

Netflix incurred a lot of body blows with their horrible stream.

I have one question: Why did Jake Paul get $40m and Tyson only get $20m?

Would anybody have watched it if Jake Paul was fighting anyone else?????

Tyson was the draw to that event -- Tyson should have received far more than Jake Paul (since the payouts were determined independent of the outcome)

yes, Jake Paul has a larger reach than Tyson now. If Tyson could bring so many, then why wasn't he fighting someone else for $20M? that said it was a great match up of two different generations of fans, very little overlap. just look at the ignorance about Jake Paul on FerrariChat who he was and how good of a fighter. Most users on FerrariChat said Tyson would kill him and dominate, but that was their ignorance living in the past.

the promotion company is Jake Paul's.

Good points, but who could else could Jake Paul fight to get anywhere near that level of viewership? I'm sure Tyson is thrilled with his $20m, and Jake Paul apparently is a promotion master, so everybody did well, but I still think Tyson's presence brought the $$$ to the event.

it was certainly a good promotional match up.

I think at some point Paul's big payday will be the current heavyweight champion and EVERYONE will tune in to watch him get pummeled. I doubt they will go straight to that, I bet we see Paul face a few more legit lower level boxers.

If he gets the opportunity to fight the champ, I'd likely tune in. Otherwise, I could live a very happy life never hearing about Jake Paul again. I don't have anything against him, but can't think of a reason I could possibly ever care about anything he does short of the Tyson fight (past tense) or a future champ fight.

Perfect night of entertainment. Everything that needed to happen happened. The key was the 2 minute rounds in the main event.
    1. The women's fight stole the show. Great for women's boxing.
    2. Sold out AT&T
    3. Crashed Netflix
    4. Nobody would pay $79, but EVERYONE watched for "Free"
    5. Nobody wanted to see Tyson to get KO'ed
    6. Best case scenario, Jake won and next opponent could make some good money.

The one thing Jake said in his post fight interview that sums it all up: when asked who is next? His PERFECT answer was, ANYONE I WANT! Cha Ching!

  18. Tyson was contractually obligated not to throw an uppercut.

  19. That's not Jake Pau's MO, i.e., to fight a current viable contender.

Most likely he'll fight someone like Connor McGregor, a "retired" UFC champ.

he'll fight whoever brings the most money, but he's gone from Youtubers to Sport Stars (basketball) to UFC to 3rd tier boxers. I think he'll continue to move closer to higher tier boxers. he's not a world champion, but he's a good pro boxer, better than many journeymen.

  21. The problem is no one is really going to pay for a fight between Paul and the current heavyweight champ.

Can hoi polloi even name the current heavyweight champ (hint: it's not Tyson Fury).

I mean, seriously, most people would rather have "Oleksandr Usyk" as a Scrabble word than to see him on a fight card with Paul.

wrong wrong, it would be the largest viewership in history, biggest ever! more people want to see Paul get his ass kicked than to see a close fight. Tyson was a perfect introduction for Paul to tens of millions who have never heard of him. I do think that is several fights down the line though.

  24. I want to see Paul fight Claressa Shields.

    If you know, you know.

If you don't, you will know when she beats the crap out of him.
