The only logical reason that I can come up with is that 993 cars are being bought to be restomodded (at Singer or somewhere else).

I love an aircooled (993) Porsche but at under $100k

I’ll take todays/Nifty’s 550 at $150 all day as well compared to ROW or Japanese export 550’s.

There are a lot of weird actions in the market.

Also bluntly a driver 550 should transact privately with a PPI (IMHO)

Porsche people are irrationally, undeniably, and inexcusably INTOXICATED by rare colors. There is no faster method for removing all logic and reason from a PCA event than to park an aircooled car in an unusual hue in the parking lot.

I drove my 993 and 575 back to back today. As much as I like my 993, it is nowhere close to the 575. The valuations make no sense. The only thing that is better is that it just works. Not much goes wrong and it’s relatively inexpensive to maintain. The seiko of the sports car world. Well, and it’s pretty too

    Ah! Another 993/575-er!

There is no hope for me, really. Every time I think the 993 is my all time fav, I take the 575 out and I’m like, “Errrr…hold on.”

Used to be it (993) was easier to live with and didn’t attract as much attention, but now that the aircooled cat is spectacularly out of the bag…no so much the case. Especially in bright-ass Iris blue.

Another 575 conversion just up on BAT... Seller has not yet disclosed many details, but I am 95% sure I know the car / original owner, and that the components used for the conversion were from Out of the Gate / @brogenville... Maybe Robin can confirm?

Will be interesting to see if the lack of a paper title (which could make for a tough import to California if the car originally came from another state) impacts bidding at all.

Comments are already getting saucy. Wonder if the seller is being coy or if juat ignorance to the car.

Yes, I stand corrected… Not the Canadian car I thought it was.

Selling dealer says it is an EAG conversion, but seems quite uninformed about what’s happened at EAG as he points to their website.

Does not know much about Ferraris or 575Ms from his comments. Why 3 fobs and 2 keys? Give me a break.

Driver’s seat looks rough for 20k miles.

I like that combo, and the fact that it’s an ‘04 has to count for some value. I’d rip that EAG out though.

I should probably know this but why does it being a "04" add value?

if I am not mistaken, it is the rarest year. But more than that, the car has all of the major updates. Taz would know the specifics better than I

Most 04s, including this one, but not mine, had the steering position sensor and other updates made at Assembly Number 52556. Later 04s than this one (135471) and 05s had even more updates. Production of 575Ms decreased with every model year. Here are the numbers from the NHTSA.
    US Production:
    02: 208
    03: 167
    04: 127
    05: 235 (575M and Superamerica Combined, Estimate 78 575Ms)

Not sure I understand the numbers -there were approximately 559 Super America’s made in 2005 and I agree that there were less than 100 standard 575. Something doesn’t add up in my feeble brain

Terry, Rifledriver and a few of the Sr Professors don’t take PM’s or they would be inundated.
The only thing I’d add to Terry’s post is that when I went thru the registry in Nathan’s book…of the 78 from 2005… only 10 of them had the HGTC package. #RareAir one of them is @Mellow_Maranello and his is converted now for what I’d consider the top spot on the 575 “desired” list

Wil deGroot and Mike Foreman (Exoticars-USA in NNJ) were responsible for the manual conversion in my 575 Superamerica. They just completed the work on the car. I am having it trucked home rather than driving it. It’s winter season and the car is too clean to get it dirty!!

I have owned this car since May of 2008 when I bought it from Miller Motorcars. Has about 20k miles on it. I have kept it maintained in the 16 years of my care. Next to my 330 the SA is my 2nd favorite car in my garage.

Hoping my brain keeps getting better (stroke). I have a lot of special cars that I have not driven since that fateful day in July of 23.
