Watched the race on replay, glad I did. Pretty mid, boring and with the over the top antics that makes you cringe after the flag.

The car rides are comedy genius. Need this as part of all GPs.

With just a few laps left in the race did anyone else hear the announcers say that if Ferrari had pitted Sainz two laps earlier when he wanted to pit their simulation said Sainz would have been over 9 seconds ahead of Hamilton and would have finished second?

I love how Sainz has convinced everyone he’s a strategy genius because of one time—with no consideration for team planning—at Monaco ‘22 basically pitting himself and still not winning. There was also Silverstone the same year when begging the team not to force him to behind LEC on the restart because they left LEC out to dry—not much strategizing needed to know how bad LEC was screwed by the team. Still waiting to see what strategy masterstroke he came up with in Brazil last race, other than smashing the car and losing the team valuable WCC points.

It’s not hard to understand why no other decent team jumped at the opportunity to sign Sainz and his strategy genius skills— they already have a group of strategists and they don’t need more. Maybe at Williams—to save costs—he was hired as driver and strategist.

^^^^ Was apparent after one lap. For those who disagree maybe go review Singapore from last year.

Then Ferrari should replace him for the last two races. Put Ollie in the seat. Won't cost them a dime.

Meh, let the Sainz fans sing his praises; it’s fine. Aside from Mexico, they haven’t had anything to celebrate since Australia. It’s the third season in a row Leclerc has topped him now, even when giving Sainz 25 points and deducting Leclerc’s from the race Sainz missed.

Harsh! Sainz could be WDC. He has the talent and still not reached peak. LEC will never be WDC. Ferrari will be fun to watch in '25 because Ham brings massive chaos to the team. It will be a shatshow" of enormous proportions as Ferrari strategy fails and the drivers fight each other instead of other teams.

My takeaway from this race is Max did the minimum for victory and RB has a clever graphic artist to come up with the M4X logo wear. Is that stuff going to be on sale at F1.com?

Lmao just wait till next year! Lulu and him will be a disaster. Charles better start nutting up and going for the jugular because Lewis isn’t going to accept being number 2.

If they give points for crying Ferrari will have a lock on the WCC for sure!

It's already on sale "coming soon" (pre-order) on RedBull.com.

Max's 4x Champion helmet is really nice. It's white with shadow-grey livery(like white marble) with gold accents.

I really like Carlos and think it was so stupid of Ferrari to drop him... BUT it was ****ty not to follow the plan. Hes getting paid well for driving Ferrari's car. I could see it in a fight for WDC,

That was also written on the screen on the broadcast I watched. Not sure how much certainty there is in that assumption though.
At the beginning of the race there was also a picture with two strategy options, both with one single pit stop - but in the real race, everybody went for two stops (so that initial assumption was clearly wrong).

Well said about Carlos. Astute and timely in many of his calls.

Charles has not quite found a way to LEAD a team. Too compliant and not a touch 'cut throat' when needed to stamp authority and gain position, points or win. He is still not a complete package at all. Im a bit perplexed as to why. At times he is Lando-esque overall to me.

In other news, Alpine gets the award for the worst team of the week-end - wasting an incredible qualifying with a blown engine, and giving a drive-through penalty to its second driver to make sure he won't score a single point.

I bet it was much better in person. On television, it's not so great. You see a well lit street and fencing, occasional drone footage of Vegas, then back to illuminated track and fencing. Every shot looks the same, what corner, which straight? Well lit fencing. Hard to watch IMO, would love to attend for the real experience.

Both Singapore and Vegas appear to have this effect. Its like watching drivers race through a tunnel of made of fence.
