My 2015 458 Speciale seems to be suffering from the semi-common corrupted hard drive on the Becker NIT (part number 286987). This was diagnosed due to the right screen on the gauge cluster displaying the digital speedometer and not allowing me to exit that view.

I plan to send it our for repair vs buying a new unit which is outrageously expensive. To avoid breaking anything due to trial and error I purchased a workshop manual for the 458 but it doesn't have instruction on which panels need to come out to gain access to the NIT and it isn't completely obvious to me. Unlike the 458 Italia, the 458 Speciale doesn't have a glove box to remove so from that perspective it is different. I'm including pictures that show the Becker unit that needs to be removed but it isn't clear which parts of the dash need to come off to gain access. I've searched endlessly for a how-to but coming up empty. Perhaps I purchased the wrong workshop manual? I pointed out that the manual I was sent is for an Italia but they insisted it's the only one. I have to believe there is a repair manual that provides a step by step on how to remove the Becker NIT? I am nowhere near a Ferrari dealership either.

    Anyone have experience with this?

I posted on that thread and sent Fred a PM.

With no Ferrari dealerships nearby, I am considering taking the car to a car audio shop to remove the radio but since they likely won't have experience with this car I prefer to do it myself.

I would've expected the workshop manual to include a step by step removal procedure, but it did not.

If you still have not gotten an answer we have taken apart several 458 dashes for sticky and actually currently have a unit at United Radio for repair. Call us and ask for me. I will have the tech talk to you, maybe he can help
    Regards
