Does anyone know of a OBD reader which works with a 488

I have seen many for 458 but nothing for 488

Looking for oil reset and code reading and erasing.

Dont need professional unit something for the DIY

    Thanks

I can tell you that the Launch X431e doesn't work on a 488 (even with the optional Ferrari software).

I believe the MS919 or Ultra by Autel will cover it

Any updates here? Does anyone know an obd tool that can read many modules and clear many modules for 488?

Wow, those are both seriously expensive! Are there any others in the X-431 Pro price range that have 488 specific software with 2 way communication?
As ViperJoe said, my X-431 Pro worked with my 458, but not with my 488. I'm so upset.

I have to check something ..this month launch updates their software and I remember seeing a few models added ..I think the 488 was added but just reading and reading codes

If my memory is correct and that is all you want to do ..a thinkdiag2 should work ..let me get back to you with the update description

In the meanwhile ..what are you looking to do with it

So, while my car was having ppf panel replaced, the battery drained low enough to set off a bunch of dash lights. The shop then recharged it, and it’s starting totally fine now for days. Nevertheless, it’s stuck in wet mode.

I learned that the car will not clear the codes on its own.

as an aside, autel confirmed for me that the mp808s and the ds808s both have robust bidirectional support for the 488. They are around $600 for the wireless dongle versions

    I ordered one last night.

Foxwell says none of their units support 488 right now. I already have one of their fancier units arriving this morning, Foxwell nt809, so I’ll try it anyway and keep everyone posted.

Look like the 3rd parties are starting to add 488 to their software lineup ..so it will be a matter of time when even the cheaper units (if not already) support them.and continue to add functionality

So given that launch updated their software to support 488 ..then I would assume that the thinkdiag2 when it gets the update will too

If it's just reading and clearing standard codes, any OBD2 reader will work.
I'm looking for one with 2 way communication, and specific software, so the green wrench, ABS pump cycled, and specific 488 stuff could be cleared.

Based on links above they have made good progress on software

Looks like soon, if not already the thinkdiag2 and the whole.launch line will have the functionality you are looking for
    ..software level 11.35

I definitely would be interested in someone testing the cheapest 2 way scanner with the 11.35 software, to confirm that it works. I want to buy one, but so confused because there are so many out there. I may try to call Launch to see if they can confirm anything for me.

    One caveat

The last time tech support spoke to someone that I was working with they mentioned that the iPhone would not get any further updates. The future updates would only update the Android interface into the thinkdiag2

Please report back if the MP808 can work with the 488 to clear the green wrench, give transmission oil temps, etc.

Also, I read the 1 star reviews on the thinkdiag2, and people were saying that if you don't do the updates, the unit will no longer work. If that's true, I definitely don't want to have to pay each year for continued operation.

    I ordered maxidas ds808s-bt.
I will absolutely let everyone know how it goes, with photos and stuff.

if ppl have specific functions or modules they want to ask about, feel free.

also, if ppl are nearby (NJ near nyc) and want to stop by to try it out, I’m sure we can find time on a Saturday some weekend

What made you pick the DS808 over the MP808?

Autel normally gives more functions as you go up the line whereas launch has all the functions at all levels ..this is true for Ferrari not some others

Use the link I pasted above and it should tell you the differences of the autel models specific for the 488

    I will re-paste it here

Autel support told me they are functionally equivalent.

I got a better deal on ds808s-bt, was available faster.

Are you aware of any benefit to mp808 va ds808s?

I just ordered the MP808BT Pro Kit.
I ordered it to give to my wife, to give to me for Christmas, LOL
I'll post how it works once I use it. It has a 30 day return period, so no harm in trying!

I just received the Autel MP808 BT Pro kit today, and I'm happy to report that it does work with the 488!
However, I was playing around with it, and scanned my car, and got this error code. Does anyone know what it means? What does the status "Missed" mean?
The car does not have any obvious problems, so I'm not too concerned, but would like to know why this code was there.

Missed means that it came and went.. no longer a current issue

Just as a side note some diagnostic equipment when they run an auto scan set errors inadvertently this could be one of them

I would suggest erase the code, run another auto scan and see if it shows up again if it does erase the code and just go into the individual module and read the codes...monitor going forward... most likely it's a ghost code
