458 Dashboard Lower Driver side repair

The lower left dashboard panel, that holds the headlight switch and parking brake controls was loose on my car.

I looked in the. manual and the way to remove it is to pull it straight out. Well it appears that someone didn't know that and managed to break off one of the studs that hold it in place as well as a tab on the frame.

They seem to have tried to glue that back but it has broken off. Ideally I'd just replace the part (825380). however then I would need to get the leather swapped over as well. Regardless though the part is unavailable. So to fix it I fired up the metal lathe and made a new stud, that has threads on the backside. Then I can drill and tap a hole into the plastic.

I threaded that in, and then for good measure I put some JBWeld around it as well.

Put it back on and it seems to be holding well!
