Had never noticed it before, but you will never ever believe the performance.

 

Well yes the CR6ZZ are pretty ace tyres in a lot of ways, if it is ultimate grip you are after, and to be fair they do handle really well, because they have a carcass that is designed by people with an understanding of the chassis that they are going to be fitted to. So just like our mate Alberto Says:-

"stick like glue, slide when you want ZZ top!"

the side wall is pretty nice too, but the tread pattern looks about as much like a Rembrant as it does classic tyre tread pattern.

However as a road tyre, the ride is a bit harsher, and they are really racing rubber compounds, which isn't ideal for road use really, specially if your tyres last you a few years.

I think they are 185/70-15

 

Here’s a comparison of measurements between a 185/70R15 vs 205/70VR15. I’ll try and see if I can find a higher res photo of the tires to see if I came read the sidewall. Any idea what Ferrari 15” wheel is on it? 400i?

however i guess principally speaking a 205/50VR15 in theory is an inch bigger in diameter than a 205/70VR14, and the wheel arches on that sexy race car look quite full, however it may also be 'slammed on the deck'

 

I think you meant 205/70-15? I really like how it fills out the wheel house. I love the idea of someone racing a Dino. This one has the Weber IDF Stratos carbs. With a racing box I would imagine this to be quite a potent machine! Anyone know where it is today and who owns it? I saw an image of it at the October 2024 Mallorca Concours https://www.iconsmallorca.com/entrants/concours/

Doh! yes 205/70.

i agree they look cool. that comparison is a bit tricky becaus i think at a glance the 14" job is not on proper tyres (i could be wrong.) But the 15" tyres fill the wheel arch front to back which looks cool. It looks close at the top, and i think it is because they are 205/70VR15 CR6ZZ, but it could be lowered (which you would do to make it a racing car)

Here are a couple of shots of my Dino with the Stratos 15" Speedline/Michelin TB tire combo. Total tire height is the same as the normal Dino wheel with 205/70/14. Better handling and fills the wheel well like a normal Dino. My GTS looks a bit high because it hasn't been on the road yet and no spare tire and radiator up front.

Fantastic! Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to seeing more! What sizes are they? 205/65R15 is super close in diameter and width with lots of tire availability. My goal is to keep the stock Cromodora 14” w/205/70VR14 XWX’s as my stock set and then explore and experience different driver sets. I have the 16” Cromodoras w/205/55R16 and 225/50R16 (same height as original). Next I want to explore a set of 15” wheels like on the red Comp Dino. Tires TBD.

what are the wheel sizes on the c and f campi’s?

This is one of my favorite shots of a C&F Dino in a great color! 7.5X14, 205/70VR14. I don’t really understand why Ferrari installed the flare at the very top of where the standard flare started leaving a huge gap. I would have created a larger version of the standard flare leaving an even opening. It’s beautiful nonetheless! That’s got to be the sexiest roofline of any production car!! I had to tweak the headlight covers with some curvature as they were the flat ones

Michelin TB5 215/55 R15

Oops! That was the front tire. The rear is TB15 23/62 24.88" diameter and the 205/75 VR15 is 25.1"

Really if it is a tyre for the road you are looking for the Pirelli Cinturato P7 is brilliant. The 15" P7 range is brilliant and they make some crazy wide tyres that are very close to the TB range. there is a table at the bottom of this page showing the dimensions of these tyres and what rims they are suited to.

So instead of the 18/60-15 TB you would fit the 225/50R15 P7 and instead of the 23/62-15 TB or 26/61-15 TB Pirelli make a 285/40R15 P7 that was the front of a Pantera, or the back of some 930 Porsche, and for the 29/61-15 TB Pirelli are makeing the 345/35R15 P7 that was on the back of the Countach. The TB tyres are litterally balls out tarmac rally tyres, you can't expect to get more than 40 miuntes hard use out of them. You can't expect them to sit in your garage without perishing. they are brilliant tarmac rally tyres, but not road tyres.

 

I thought the TB5's were the soft ones for racing that didn't last long and the TB15's were closer to a road tire. My TB15's seem to be holding up pretty well for a road tire.

 

Not quite

TB15 are soft intermediate.

TB5R are more robust simi slick rear compound (for rear wheel drive cars) that can really withstand the heat build up of these cars.

TB5F a Semi slick for front. Softer than the R but still able to withstand some heat.

Oh yeah PB20 super soft wets. looks like the TB15

If you want some more buy them quick the price is about to go up.

But really unless you are actually tar mac Rallying fit the P7.

Do any of you know more about *06748*? This Dino seemed to be a serious racer set up with straight cut gears, Stratos induction etc etc. I’d love to learn more about it! Limited info online.
