Lap 1, Turn 1. Sh*t happens.
Yeah, no. Max's attempt to get by Piastri was nothing short of ridiculous. He was never going to make a pass work like that. There's a difference between going for a gap, and not caring at all if you hit another driver. Max was doing the latter. His driving since Silverstone has been clunky and subpar, outside of Brazil. He's made tons of contact with other drivers, and has done nothing but act like a child on the radio.
I'm sorry, is this a racing forum, or a political forum? If we all wanted to hear references to political labels, and the kind of us vs them stuff that's turned the world into what it is, we'd go to a political forum. Frankly, I totally believe Russell's account of the meeting. Max has been running on tilt since he's had to work for his victories again. At times he's acted like a total child when something goes wrong. A user on here said George is the kid that tattles to the teacher about homework, and that might be true. But it also seem to be the case that Max is the rich kid that thinks he's above the law and thinks he's above being given tickets, exactly like Russell said.
Max is hindering George in a slow lap -> penalty of 1 grid position. George is hindering another driver in a fast lap -> no penalty. Who is above the law?
Look at it again. Gap was HUGE. Max goes for it, Piastri starts turning in and max is on the kerb, bottoms out just as he hits the throttle, goes wider than planned and hits piastri. I didn't even say the 10 seconds he got were undeserved lol. Just the 2 penalty points. You're entitled to your own opinion, as I am to mine. George saying that Max said he was going to give him the lead is the dumbest f''in lie on the planet, and that was his opening statement. Then George says that Max told him he''s going to put his ''effing head into the wall'' in front of the stewards. But we had crofty then confirm that there wasn't any swearing in the stewards room. 2 lies in one statement from George.
The British media, has already confirmed the swearing in the stewards from Max wasn't true. Take that as you will
Russell didn't say that. He said that after he and Max left the stewards room is when Max threatened him, so you're not even getting the details of this right. Again, I believe Russell based on Max's recent behavior, and the way he's been running on tilt.
To me, Max seems straight forward. Russel is way more "political" (in the worst sense). Believe who you want.
Perfect word to describe him that’s synonymous with “disingenuous,” “smarmy,” “opportunistic,” and “self-serving.”
As a Brit, I would agree; those are our traits of character found in many people here. So, no cause for alarm if you find Russell to be like that.
Max beats Vettel by 1 day. It took Vettel 1,078 days from his 1st WDC title to his 4th WDC title. It took Max 1,077 days from his 1st WDC title to his 4th WDC title.
Was you there and can report facts accurately? Otherwise its just his word against the other, all playground antics and someone throwing their dummy out of the pram Best tony
I truly believe my earlier statement was clear enough, but let me rephrase it for you: In general, to me, Max seems straight forward. Russel is way more "political" (in the worst sense). Believe who you want.
Neither was I, you, or anyone else in this thread. Hence Sempre's statement at the end of ''Believe who you want". I don't believe George because he's a sensationalist snake that will say anything, truth or lie, to get people to back him. He's a politician. Max may be an arsehole, but he doesn't care if a statement makes him look good or bad, so long it's the truth. We have people on one side who hate Max and believe anything said against him. We have people on the other side that'll defend Max no matter what's said. We have people in between who either use their own logic to believe whoever or see if Max has done something bad in the last few races and base their opinion on that. For me when George opened with his statement that Max said "I was going to let you by" told me everything I needed to know. Lies, followed by more lies. Have you ever known Max to let a potential win slip just because? Thought so.
The difference between me and you is that I dont care what any driver says, its all politics, chest beating and gaining the psychological high ground over their competitor. Some are good at it and others are not, some get intimidated by it others dont, its all part of the mind games. But what pees me off is people making hypothetical, hysterical even, statements based on zero info just to rubbish someone they hate.........playground antics.
If George's statement is a lie then that by itself is a hysterical statement. Especially considering it was made a week after "the event" (where nothing even happenned). The whole thing as far as I can tell is purely hypothetical in the first place.
Exactly my point, so why do some people get so animated about it and lose all sense of reality & fragment fellow f-chatters on this site. It baffles me some on here almost have a coronary over someone who wouldnt pee on them if they were on fire. I have no idea when /what & how Russel / Verstappen made those remarks, it doesnt show on my radar one iota, its all BS Best Tony
it baffles me more than bothers me, i really dont know why i logged onto this thread in the first place....serves me right
Verstappen sets the top three fastest times at Portimao in different cars Poorly written article as it doesn't state which three cars he drove, although I'm guessing there was a Porsche involved in addition to the Ferrari.
Looks like a test for people new to a race car. As good as Verstappen is, there is no pro driver that would be 10 seconds a lap slower than him.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Max Verstappen has been unanimously voted as the Driver of the Year by all team principals . For the first time in the seven years since they've done this ranking, a driver has received the maximum number of points.
