Airtrax has released a new kit of the Ferrari Dino 308 GT/4 in 1/24 scale. Resin casting needs to be reworked but at least the kit exists ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't worry, they will reissue. I think a curbside model will be out soon in 1/12th also, but in built form. I have to many full detail Hiro kits already. Curbside would be nice for a change!!
I am trying to help Classic Model Museum turn this GTAM into a very nice 1/12th scale kit with decals for the 1970 2nds place SPA 24 hour car. They have to make many corrections, including on the 13 inch wheels. Here is my car, the car they will use for reference. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I highly recommend this 333SP printed kit. It is really well done. You can get it in many scales including 1/12th and 1/24th. You can also order just the wheels, and they are perfect!! It is a pain to get the access printed material off, but it all works after you carefully get the parts removed. One thing is the flat bottom of the car will have to be plastic card I think because it would warp if printed. Everything else is there. I am going to use the MOMO wheels on the Hiro 1/12th car as they gave the later black wheels in their kit. They also ran regular silver Momo's during the race, I was at the race and have picture proof My model came with 3 sets of wheels and 1 set of tires. Buy it and build many 333SP's and use Pattos Place decals. Scania and Momo in many scales available. Even the Race for Belgium cars decals are available.
I ordered it also (in 1:24) an I am very happy, looks fun to build. Did you already get the printed material off? And how did you do it? In my kit there was a recommendation to soak it in warm water and tear it off, but I'm sceptikal..
Yes, very carefully. I looked at the picture of the parts on his website and carefully back cut the printed material with an Exacto knife and used small pliers to try and crush the printed feed tags. I broke the rear wing trying to remove that huge extra tag that said remove. All the other parts came out very well. The radiators are very nice. This is still a curbside, but a lot of parts for a full detail included. The price was a bargain, unless he raised it? Full 1/12th is $255.00 and a 20% discount for first order. I think on the 1/24th version the wheels are slightly different sizes. That must be an error, and I can't remember which tree the smaller wheels came off. The 1/12th wheels I have are all the same. I think I am going to order another 1/24th kit and ask him to be careful. Cut and cush feed tags a few millimeters away from part as to not scratch the part. The tags will break away after that. No direct cutting on parts or you could damage them. Also, no vacuform parts, but he gives you a vacuform mold. Most of these cars started the race with lights covered, so that is not a big problem.
I was checking this 333SP against Perry's Resin version, and although Randy's version is very good underneath the body, this printed version has better everything else. The MOMO wheels are also big enough, and Randy's were too small in the center part. Randy did do short and long nose version, but the long nose is very rare. Also, now we have all the wheel types used in IMSA including the BBS used by the Evans team and the Olive Garden teams OZ wheels. The Olive Garden decals are not available yet, but Pattos Place does make part of the decals on the 550M set. Missing many decals for those cars still.
By the way, if anyone has the BBR 333SP it is close to 1/21-22nd scale not 1/24th. I have their Pilot and Momo 333SP and was never happy with it. Until now Perry's was the only 1/24th scale game in town, if you could find one.
Next up from this company, an Alfa Romeo T33 TT12 printed in all scales again. Printing is the future, but decals will be a problem on some cars. The Alfa TT12 and 333SP are fine, but a lot of cars have no decals available yet. 6 MODELS | JPGMODELS
A little nuts, but still incredible!! 1/87th kits to do the Cobra pits at Daytona and Lemans. Printed detail is amazing. The key is they have decals and photoetch along with printed parts. And a lot of talent. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
DDP Models is announcing the next new kit in 1/24 scale... The 308 Turbo Carma from daytona 24hr 1981. It should be much better than a modified Polistil diecast Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for posting this: amazing for such a tiny scale; thankfully I could not find a place to purchase one.
I'm spending one day at the Nuremberg Toy Fair the end of Jan. I'll be pretty busy but if any one wants something checked out let me know. I'll cover things I find interesting.
That´s good news. Although I already have a kit of the 308 Carma, I guess I will buy the DDP as well, as I expect it to be much better than the Scale Manufaktur kit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hope someone does the decals for the Vallelunga version...that one with all the white striping on it. Kinda ugly, but that's why I like it. Can't believe those 1/87 jobs...incredibly accurate.
Printed models from Bilingham Design in 1/24th scale. I bought several 1/12th wheels sets from him and they are amazing quality. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey guys I went to a locally owned dedicated model shop in Bangkok Thailand! It's in the quiet neighborhood of Ding Daeng right across the street from a little relaxing park. It had AC but offered free drinks to keep you cool The owner and his buddy were super friendly. You could definitely find a good deal here, I didn't bother haggling but I'm sure you could get a slightly better deal on some of the kits like the Ferrari ones they had. They only had 1 small selection with cars, definitely the place to go if you like planes and tanks. Apparently there is another hobby shop (with a large selection of cars/toys) close by but it was closed on Monday when we went Uncle Yae Scale Model Bangkok Hobby Shop Anyways take off your shoes and check it out. 1000 baht = $30 USD Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
