Just came across this video while surfing and was pretty surprised by the glorious sound made by this F355. It is absolutely delightful.. At the 3:50m mark in the video the workshop says its a kreis works? exhaust from Germany.. but I cant find any info on the internet regarding this. Perhaps they mean kreissieg.? It has the OEM Y pipe.. so it seems the exhaust note is all Muffler..?!!? Does anyone knows this vehicle and what exhaust they are running..?
I spoke with Mickey from Throtl personally, which is the guy who mentioned the exhaust name in the vid and his response to me is what he said in the video. Keep in mind these guys aren’t 355 specialists and aren’t familiar with all 355 after-market parts. Personally, I think he misread the muffler and it is a Capristo from Germany. It sounds like it as well. Definitely, not Kreissieg from Japan.
That's one hell of a misread.. Mixing Kreisseig Japan with Capristo Germany to get "Kreis Works" Well at least he got one thing right when he said he had "never heard of it". Thanks for taking the time to confirm Ken..
Indeed.. But what I find interesting is that "somehow" this vehicle sounds much more acoustically pleasing (from inside the cabin at least) than other Capristo Videos I have heard Not sure why this is the case, as it seems ( judging from the stock Y pipe) it is a stand alone back box Capristo swap only.?! Furthermore there is the superb throttle response the car has.?? Lightened flywheel..combined with straight pipes..? Is it just me or does somehow this vehicle sound much 'nicer' than the normal Capristo exhaust note??! Any ideas why this may be the case..?
Yes that's a good point. So far I have resisted pulling the trigger on the Gruppe M airboxes, not just because of cost, but also because there is some anectodal evidence that I saw on this forum where the airboxes, seem to increase low down airflow/hp gains but are restrictive up top - at least for the Gruppe M 2.7 airboxes.. Not sure about the 5.2 versions. I have heard the Gruppe M airboxes improve the air intake noise.., but whether this leads to an improved throttle response..? But as I have no experience with the Gruppe M intake, this is merely an opinion. Perhaps others can share their experience..
