So after a vigorous car wash i noticed the following.

1)Engine Starts with the ignition key turned on and brakes applied.
    2) right head light twitching
    3) wipers moving uncommanded,

Any common components, relays, boards for this electrical short/issue

    Thank you

Full disclosure:The car had a previous damage on the right front, from previous owner. I’m guessing the baffles and what other water shielding/shedding baffles possibly missing.

After some troubleshooting and locating the 30A Fuse (F43 motor relay power) and 2 the relays, T26 and T27 (first windscreen wiper speed relay / Second windscreen wiper speed relaying).

Pulling the fuse wouldn’t stop the relay, which makes me think it has another power source, possibly from a rain sensor?
Pulling T2 or T27 didn’t stop them either.

Pulling the Brown T40 relay (Radiator Fan relay 1, per the diagram) because it’s in the vicinity and suspect something got wet. It Did the stop the wipers and also the flickering of the right headlight. But, it wouldn’t allow the ignition key to turn to the last detent to release the key. A lot of common denominators. Reinstalled the T40, keys released and wiper went back to continuous operation.

Next, source a good relay to see if this will unlatch the power or keep looking downstream. Is there a significance in color coordination of the relays, better yet, what is the significance of the brown and purple color relays.

Also, is there a common ECU or Electronic junction where the start button, wipers, right headlight and radiator fans have?

Thank you @RayJohns for sharing some literature, next i need to source a wiring diagram, and take a look at the power distribution, but easy stuff first.

Are these relays available at a local parts stores?

The relays panel is the one behind the glove box, and it’s the side mounted set.

Relays should be common Automotive type so take it with you to your FLAPS. Can’t guarantee the staff will know how to match up a new one if they can’t find it in their computer but just look at the voltage and ampere ratings, pin arrangement and schematic which is usually printed on the body of the relay

I like the use of FLAPS acronym :). I will definitely try and value engineer the relays, but the size of the body/shell of these relays seem specific.

I’m going to find the part number and work it back.

    Another quick update:

it took it out just now, I pulled up behind a car close enough to see my headlights. I cycled through the different positions and the wipers stoped when I left it in the small light position, the one before the headlights position. Interesting. On the next start attempt the start switch was no longer latched and it required pressing the button to start (normal)

this must be what Herding cats feels like.

Well that’s some progress. Do you have the maintenance manual with the wiring schematics?

Right?! celebrated a little too quick, it went back to break pedal push start. The headlight switch continues to play a roll. I have a copy of the shop manual that was shared here. I’m currently operating with an I PAD, so not sure if the file supports the layout on a IOS device, but it’s a little hard to navigate as there isn’t a chapter to system guide. Short answer is, no, I haven’t had a chance to look at a wiring diagram to chase down the how these systems are tied together.
