It´s still too early to talk about an "era". Maybe it will just be a footnote or an epilogue. Anyway, whoever drives the Ferrari gets my support, even if reluctantly, so Forza Lulu.
Well, I think it´s time to start questioning the narrative that the Red Bull was not the best car in 2025, or at least a championship winning car. They won more races than any other team. They struggled sometimes, but not more than Ferrari, or Mercedes, or McLaren at the beginning of the season. The fact that Pérez performance was so abysmal, even compared to his previous seasons at Red Bull, made Verstappen shine more, and made them lost the Constructors Championship. Also we came from seasons dominated by Red Bull and now that they seem "mortal" suddenly it´s like the end of the world. But Verstappen saying that he would have been champion with the McLaren or the Ferrari is very questionable, apart from disrespectful for his team. Pride comes before a fall.
It's an honor and a privilege for Ferrari to have Sir Lewis Hamilton. An icon that transcends F1. Likely the most legendary sportsman of the 21 century. I hope the best for Ferrari in 2025. Oh and Happy New Year!
I am sure Lewis will add to SF Experience he has a lot. I doubt Charles can learn learn anything substantial from Lewis Maybe Charles will have extra notivation to win more, and error less. I am also curious about what will we see from AM now that the Designer GOAT is there An exciting season 2025 will be.
Objectively, Lewis only won when his car was significantly better than the rest of the field, and even then he lost a WDC to his designated #2 teammate whom nobody would consider an all-time great. What, I'm supposed to be excited about Vettel the 2nd driving for us next year?
Not excited. Rational, pragmatic. Leave the other thread to the dive bar/kindergarten arguments folks. Let's keep this one clear minded, analytical and objective.
Max was 2nd at Silverstone....behind Lewis. Unfortunately, Interlagos was a different story for Lewis.....so he's inconsistent in the wet. Not to mention, look how both drivers qualified at both races. Who made up the most positions in both races?
Looks like George has some connections. This is the first and only Ferrari/Hamilton item I have seen so far. 'Star Wars' Director George Lucas Rocks Stormtrooper Tee On St. Barts Vacation https://www.tmz.com/2025/01/02/george-lucas-star-wars-wears-stormtrooper-tee-st-barts/
If you think I've done something wrong, report me to an actual moderator. Otherwise, get over it already and quit whining. My opinions are every bit as valid and welcome here as yours.
Newey’s input with AM will be very limited or inexistant for 2025 I guess. Nevertheless this season will be exciting between the 4 top teams I am sure..
Like the thread starter and others we are trying to keep this thread clear of nonsense; i.e. of all the petty, childish, rude tone and controversy in other threads about LH which frankly are often sewers, like seedy dive bars or like the ultimate sewer in Fchat: P & R. It is not at all about whining but about raising standards, please understand that, no need for an answer.
Someone is trying to instaure another layer of censorship to suit himself on this Hamilton thread. What a way to mark the new year !!! As long as no one contravenes the forum rules, I don't see the need for it It would stiffle spontaneity, and we should resist it. What the moderators say ?
There are other threads in the F1 forum where members can praise or disparage Hamilton. Let's confine the discussion on this thread to his performance as a Ferrari driver?
People saying Charles has nothing to learn from Lewis, are ignoring every other sport, business and industry. Sportsmen and women in all sports have tutors, mentors, trainers, etc. Some of those are older retired people from their sport, or in many cases athletes who never personally had the skill to compete at the very highest level, but can see, analyze, and interpret what's going on and give feedback, coaching, tips, etc. to the 'pro'. It doesn't mean the coaches are better than them, it means they have the experience, background, and understanding, to see, observe, interpret, and provide feedback. LeClerc has improved a lot in the last couple of years, and for me was probably the second best on the grid after Max. But he still makes mistakes, and his conversion from poles to wins is poor. While past his peak, Lewis has seen just about every scenario, situation, and issue that can happen on a track. If they have a good working relationship I have no doubt that Lewis can teach him an awful lot about putting together a championship run.
Leclerc shows frustration against the team and it's eating him inside year after year. His fervor for driving for Ferrari is showing. It wasn't like before. His last vent against the team pushed him. There's Lewis's way from what he has learned and then there's Ferrari's way. I'm sure Alonso brought know-how to the Ferrari team. I'm sure Vettel brought know-how to the Ferrari team.....rinse and repeat seems to be the status quo. That synopsis doesn't work well with Lance Stroll whose had Massa, Vettel and now Alsono.....and the guy doesn't show any progression with regards to his mentors.
The problem is, as we’ve seen in the past, a teammate is only going to help and teach so much. Ultimately they want the wins for themselves so they will only contribute up to a point where they don’t jeopardize their own success. I don’t think for a second Lewis will put the team before his own success. He’ll help as long as it benefits him but he surely won’t let anyone stand on his shoulders. He has always been a self centered, prima donna. Frankly it’s worked for him so why change now? If Charles can’t beat him out the gate he will have a breakdown and curl up in the fetal position. This is a pivotal time in his career arc.
