Why am I not surprised ?

Most of the Daytonas I've worked on and/or documented for these kinds of details have had side-to-side door length discrepancies averaging between 1/4" & 3/4" (largest I've seen was about 7/8") and mind you they were built/constructed in larger scale production utilizing some forms of fixtures (for ease of assembly & uniformity ?), etc.

OTOH, these door length discrepancies/inconsistencies appear to align with several others I noticed in their original body construction and started documenting/recording already couple of decades ago.
I always "assumed" I'm not the only one having had paid attention to and/or documented them, but who knows ... ?

Appears that it could be 1964/65 Ferrari 158 F1 or 1512....
Tough to tell without the rest of the car....

That photo of the Daytonas at Scaglietti has a 275 seat in front but no 275's there in 1969.

Isn’t there one GTB(?) sitting to the right of the seat (left rear quarter panel & door handle seen on the left edge of the photo) ?

    Sure, as I say.
    A green 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta.
Cars came back to Scaglietti for repairs, while current/new models were fabricated. Absolutely standard in the 60s.

Long door, short door reminded me of this interesting door that has a unique characteristic just for the driver.

I find it fascinating that in some cases cars repaired by Scaglietti differ from how they were originally built. Donät know why, but getting the cars back onto racing track as quickly as possible must have been one factor here.

I finally got my Boano home from the Nationals at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Had a BLAST! I left the car with Motion Products to convert the old clutch basket system to a more street friendly set-up. This involved a new bellhousing that MP made, and a GTE flywheel, with a modern Ford clutch & pressure plate. Everything they do is strictly bolt on, and can be returned to stock. What a difference it makes to have a normal clutch now. Image Unavailable, Please Login

So now we have Boanos just "Hanging Around!" The front clip in the rafters is from one-of-14 alloy cars. I'm in the midst of making some inner wheel well panels that were missing for some reason when I bought the car some years ago. There is evidence that they were there, but somehow vanished.
I'm still in search of a front & rear bumper for the Boano, and maybe a whole 'nuther Boano donor to build the alloy car around? That's the hood for the Alloy car hanging in the background. Image Unavailable, Please Login
