A Truly genuine nice chap who cares about us DIY lads and getting our pride and joy back on the road we be lost without him
not many people like this left in the world unfortunately that goes over and beyond what this guy does to help and ask nothing in return!

i vote we set up a go fund me page or something for contributions/donations ? for all and anybody he has helped or tried to help over the years?
he can use it for a holiday or if he wants for a charity close to his heart etc, or just go an a bender if he wants lol

if we were going to the dealers to get help and advice we would expect to pay and probably be robbed at the same time

doesn't have to be much just a token of appreciation but think if we all chip in something us who he has helped should make up something worth while I'm sure there a fair amount of us ?
think owe him some kind of appreciation even if its a job he has tried to help with but didn't succeed ?

let me know your thoughts ?

I’m in! I’ve often thought to ask him if he has some kind of Venmo or PayPal, but I figured he’d just decline and say “Thanks, but not necessary”. Maybe that’s presumptuous of me, but either way, I’m all in. Let’s do it.

yep he obviously doesn't do it for money but think he deserves something from us lot for his time least we can do
any thoughts on a minimum figure per person ?
like i said it doesn't have to be much but if we had a minimum figure of 25usd per person or something like that? but obviously you can give as much or as little as you like ??
i personally feel guilty not giving him something for his help and patience with my f1 issues
and has probably saved most of us thousands from the stealers

Whichever option doesn’t take any of the money from the recipient. I think gofundme takes a percentage. It would have to be Venmo or PayPal friends and family or something like that, but he’d have to play along and give us an email or phone number linked to one of those accounts! If he’s willing to accept such shows of gratitude ;)

@BAZ22 Barry, thank you so much for the suggestion above - truly was appreciated along with all the others that followed and supported it
I truly appreciate the gratitude but the "gift of gratitude" is perfect and more than enough from any owner I help
If you feel the desire to help me pay it forward - please make a donation to your favorite charity or if you like "St Jude"

Again thank you all for your gratitude

After speaking to a friend .. he stated that some people do not like to give to charity for reasons beyond the money - e.g. privacy, hassle, getting on mailing lists etc
If that is the reason holding you back and you are ok with me sending funds over to my local charities or St Jude, etc periodically .. PM me and I will provide a private link
Understand this will not be tax deductible - I am doing this so that the people in need don't miss out
    Does that sound ok ?

    no problem Dominick
least i can do after the help and advice you have given me
i know i would feel guilty if i didn't try and show some sort of numerical gratitude for your help
that's why i thought we should set up some kind of platform to get you a few bucks if only to go towards a new tool or software etc as I'm sure we will avail of it in the future anyway! lol
i know i for one be lost not having you at the end of the phone for help and advice

Huge Thanks to Flash32 for Helping Me Fix My Ferrari

    Hey everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to give a massive shoutout and thank you to @flash32 . A while back, my Ferrari started having issues with the way it was shifting. I posted about it on another thread, and after taking it to the dealer, they quoted me around $30k to replace the clutch and a bunch of other things. Considering the clutch had been changed less than 9k miles ago, I was pretty lost on what to do next.

The same dealer wanted an astronomical amount to replace the potentiometers for the transmission. That’s when @flash32 stepped in and offered to guide me through diagnosing and fixing the issue—expecting nothing in return. His confidence and knowledge were evident from the start. We systematically checked the behavior of the accumulator, which was shot, and he helped me source a very affordable original part. He even guided me through the replacement process and helped me change the relay.

During the clutch bleed process, I ran into more bad luck—a bad clutch block split in half at the bleed screw. Once again, @flash32 was there, walking me through swapping it out and replacing the clutch pipe that had bad threads. After all of this, we re-bled the clutch, but the issue persisted.

We had to get to the actuator, and @flash32 made what seemed like a daunting task so much more manageable. I removed the actuator and bled it, but the problem was still there. We did a deep dive into testing how the selection and engagement sensors were reading values, and discovered a faulty engagement sensor. I decided to replace both sensors, and @flash32 helped me find affordable, high-quality replacements. He guided me in adapting them to the car’s original harness with a factory finish and ensured all the values were within spec.

After replacing the sensors, we retested the car, and to my absolute delight, it shifted perfectly through all the gears. I took it out for an hour-long test run today, and it drove beautifully.

@flash32, you’re a legend. I can’t thank you enough for your incredible patience, knowledge, and generosity. Good people like you are rare, and your help has meant the world to me. You are truly passionate at what you do and have taught me a lot!

    Thanks again, @flash32!!

I am so so happy that after all the hard work you put in to the project of getting your car back on the road paid off .. we took a very manageable step by step process allowing training time in between. Your 360 now a has good F1 system but now you have the ability to do everything again without any guidance (priceless). I am glad that I was part of your journey and truly was excited every time you said "do you have some time today to work on the car "

There is nothing more satisfying than helping someone who appreciates it and getting the problem fixed without throwing money at it

You dedication was one of the biggest reasons we succeeded

It was my pleasure to help ..

Legendary! I can’t IMAGINE how much all that would’ve cost at any shop, even a good independent! And to think of how much money dealerships were ready, willing, and eager to steal from you for things that didn’t need to be fixed or replaced?? How scary is that?!?

    Dominick to the rescue again!

Based on the other post it wasn't so much how much they were going to charge but it was actually the misdiagnosis that he needed a new clutch and they wanted to charge him $12,000 for that besides another six for the potentiometers

His clutch has over 70% left life

There were some settings that was messed up in the TCU probably by a prior owner that probably threw off the shop to give them the benefit of the doubt

We also rebuilt the potentiometers using quality components instead of paying over 2k for 2 new ones
