All the Italian brands are guilty of nonsense. How about when Lambo released the revuelto and made a bunch of people in the States pre order specs to get them quickly and then didn’t deliver them for over a year while they were delivering custom specs to Europe. it’s all nonsense. We all put up with too much.
That seems a very strange story . I have a three layer paint car that went on the boat on 27/11. It went 10R 28/6 started actual production 12/7 . Considering I lost a full month because of August shutdown the actual production time was 12 weeks. Some of the delay in mine was the three layer. That can add up to 4 weeks . Was your dealer keeping you informed of the actual status throughout the build ?
And no one ever had to wait on a new model Ferrari. It's always been the case that Europe gets the first cars. Nothing new there.
To remain competitive. Lamborghini did keep the naturally aspirated V12 for the Revuelto, and I'm glad they did. However, there are the inevitable comparisons with the twin-turbo V8 SF90, and a common sentiment has become "Lambo had all this time and still can't build a car that can out-perform the 5-year-old SF90." The Temerario will likely not suffer the same fate regarding performance perceptions.
I find the comps understandable and inevitable. But as noted, Lambo took the brave route of providing the more traditional and visceral car. I wish the exterior design was good as it could have been a real treat.
I think the Revuelto looks great. It has very good road presence. Especially from the rear. It is the base version. I’m sure the SV/SVJ variants will dial things up quite a bit. And yes, I am biased. Mine has finished building and should show up in a few weeks.
I think the European brands take longer to deliver to the US for 2 primary reasons 1. Legal- we are a far more litigious society (and becoming far far worse) / better to sort out problems with less litigious people. 2. Cultural- home field advantage. I say fair play to that. If I were in charge of Corvette, you bet I'd reward my home customers first.
Especially when it comes to a new model. For the US to certify a new model it takes months. EU could have deliveries and US could take 6-9 for certification.
Agree that’s a problem but not of their choice, much as how it is with virtually every manufacturer nowadays - but im sure the 10k rpm v8 will prove worthy and better sounding than 296 - Will wait and see. From my experience so far with Lambo they listen to their customers and its shown in their new cars. Improved ergonomics and seating - driver controls and UI functionality definitely better than Ferrari. They are also generally more respectful and accommodating before and after sales. Ive found with Ferrari they tend to forget all about you once they have your money. Lambos events are also exceptional and predominantly cost free - always get invited too! Cant say the same for Ferrari unfortunately. The quality of their cars is also exceptional and, they definitely sound way better .
its true, modern Lambos are truly well built cars. Look at the paint on any new Lambo vs a Ferrari. Especially the V12 Lambos...ZERO paint defects.
Best service I've had has been with Lamborghini. Lamborghini Las Vegas is awesome. Shout out to Ben Stauffer. I especially like when the tech does a video of the car as he walks through the service when the car is up and measures brakes/tires and other things and you get to see it then they send you the video. Nice touch and I've never had any other dealer do that. I just can't say enough good things about them.
Absolutely. Very high quality as is the rest of the car. The paintwork is impeccable and the color selections amazing.
if we talk about Lambo, do you think V8 turbo with red line 10k can sounds good with custom exhaust from novitec/capristo?
Lambo always make a point about how their cars sound vs Ferrari who don’t give much of a toss these days.
Do they?? Porsche has no customer loyalty and no matter what you buy always asks for a $50k+ ADM on TT and GT3s. Now the factory gets in on it and jacks basically the same GT3 car up by $50k. Good for them to take the money vs dealers. But of course the dealers are still tacking on ADM on top of that. Absurd!
I think TT may be $0-15K ADM in some markets but definitely seeing it on GT3. I got a few calls for $50-75K over on winged and touring GT3. For ~$300K spec it then seems to be like a massive total relative to other options (even Porsche). Especially pre-owned - Speedster and R are not that much more and personally I prefer 991. Would be nice if Ferrari had a stick option even with OPF. But as someone with a 992 GT3 to sell soon I guess it's good personally, especially in combo with their FUD that there are only a couple of years for non hybrid or turbo GT3s.
