I wanted to start off by responding to each of your points because, while I respect personal opinion, your statement seems heavy on subjectivity and pretty light on facts. Ferrari’s direction, especially with the 12 Cilindri, deserves more credit than what you’re giving here:

    1) The Haptics

You’re not into the haptics, but here’s the thing: Ferrari didn’t just slap them on for no reason. They’re moving toward a cleaner, more driver-focused cockpit. It’s not about complicating things; it’s about keeping your eyes on the road and minimizing distractions. Once you get used to them, they feel second nature, and frankly, it’s where the future of high-end car design is headed. Ferrari is innovating here, not falling behind.

    2) “Big and Heavy” Cars

Cars are bigger across the board, but Ferrari has made them feel anything but heavy. With their insane suspension tech, perfect weight distribution, and cutting-edge aero, these cars still handle like proper Ferraris. Look at the 812 Competizione—big car, but razor-sharp handling. You want light and agile? The 296 GTB shows Ferrari hasn’t forgotten how to build a car that’s nimble and engaging.

The size comes with benefits, too: safety, comfort, and practicality. And despite that, Ferrari manages to make their cars feel more alive and responsive than most “lightweight” cars out there.

    3) The V12

The idea that there are “better V12s” out there doesn’t really hold water. Ferrari’s V12 is the benchmark—it’s a masterpiece of engineering that delivers power, response, and emotion in a way no one else can match. Sure, other brands have V12s that sound wild, but the Ferrari V12 is about so much more than just noise. It’s about precision, linear power delivery, and an experience that’s unmatched.

The 12 Cilindri is likely the last of its kind: a naturally aspirated V12 Ferrari. When it’s gone, everyone will be chasing one. Just look at how the 812, F12tdf, and 599 GTO have climbed in value. Collectors and enthusiasts are already eyeing the 12 Cilindri as the next unicorn. If you don’t see that, you’re missing the bigger picture.

    4) Pricing

Ferraris have always been expensive, but they’re worth every penny. You’re not just paying for the car—you’re buying a piece of engineering perfection, decades of racing pedigree, and a driving experience that no other brand can replicate.

And this whole “nothing left on the table” idea? Recent Ferraris like the F8, 812, and even the Pista have all gone above MSRP. The 12 Cilindri will follow the same path because it’s the last of the naturally aspirated V12s. When hybrids fully take over, this car will be the one everyone wishes they hadn’t skipped.

    5) “Done with Ferrari”

If you’re done with Ferrari because they’re evolving, that’s your call, but it feels like you’re missing the point. Ferrari isn’t catering to nostalgia and old car enthusiasts —they’re moving forward while still honoring their legacy. The idea of sticking to “light and simple” forever just isn’t Ferrari. They’ve always been about pushing boundaries and being the best in the game.

And as for buying Ferraris to get a halo car? Sure, it’s a system, but the exclusivity is part of what makes Ferrari what it is. If you don’t want to play that game, someone else will, because the cars are worth it. Walking away doesn’t hurt Ferrari—it just means you’re missing out.

In my opinion, the 12 Cilindri represents the best of what they’ve done and what they’re still capable of. If you’re too focused on what Ferrari “used to be,” you’ll miss what they’re still doing better than anyone else.

Didn’t we read Ferrari learned from the haptics heavy mistake and is putting buttons back in the cars?

They are putting buttons back in the car due to European regulations. You will not be able to achieve the highest safety rating with only haptics. Ferrari is creating retrofit steering wheel options for all the models with only haptics. Plus, the new models will return to buttons on the steering wheel later this year (thank goodness)!

Will this modification affect the 12 cilindri production ?
So if im getting a later date production, do i have a chance at a steering wheel with the return to buttons?

The haptic crap is dangerous, especially in high performance cars. It is nearly impossible to keep your eyes on the road. Terrible design. A simple screen with a few knobs works great, no need to complicate it. I believe in the 12C they did add the screen. Too bad they didnt in the Purosangue.

So that‘s your second message on the Board. Either drinking too much Ferrari cool aid or you‘er directly employed by Maranello?

I've mentioned elsewhere that the new VW EVs have both touchscreens and a few buttons/knobs on the wheel and dash for the most common controls - mirrors, cruise, climate, stereo volume, etc. The best solution IMO, it's 'clean enough'. The 296 little touchscreens for things like mirrors and vehicle settings are dangerous because of the distraction time to look at them and tap-tap-tap-tap-tap trying to activate the pad and then adjust things.

David has spent seven figures and has Tailor Made flagship cars, including two modern V12s. If he isn't the target buyer then something is critically flawed. Almost no one else gives a crap about the 12 Cilindri than the die hards [over represented here]... maybe it will percolate and become a cult classic later, but to date I sense very low interest, even with the first wave of reviews out.

Ask your dealer. My dealer shared the information with me. Evidently, the sales force was informed of the pending change at a recent meeting.

if I were employed by Maranello, I certainly wouldn’t be waiting until 2026 for my 12C allocation. I’m just a passionate Ferrari owner who appreciates what they bring to the table.

Lately, I’ve noticed an influx of negativity whenever new models are announced, and it’s become a predictable pattern. The truth is, the 12C is entirely sold out, and those with reservations are likely not the ones coming to threads like this to bash it.

I’ll make the decision for you … don’t walk away … run away. You are looking at a $200k hit at least before the end of the lock up period. There are tons of great cars for 1/3 or half that price that will not go down at all. Why would you just set fire to that much after-tax money? The answer is because you absolutely have to have the car and don’t care about the $200k. Oh don’t forget your pricing is not locked in so could be higher when it arrives!

Many of those bashing it (myself included) walked away from an allocation (a spider in my case). If I like the car I’ll buy one for $300k in a few years time, but only if I prefer it over the 812 or F12 or 575 or the other 50 great cars you can buy with $300k or in many cases a lot less.

or chatgpt lol … best comment in that post is “ if you don’t want to play the game then someone else will” … that is the flaw in everything that Ferrari is thinking. That’s what they believe and between my Ferrari friends all but one (who has gone big the other way) we are all walking away.

It won’t be an investment because the go-faster 12C will cost $1.6m to ensure not a single euro is left on the table for the house.

Exactly! This was one of the deal-breakers for me and why I drove my 296gts right back to the dealer.

I have an allocation for a Coupe, still undecided about colour, yet you made me curious. What other cars would be as interesting?. Certainly you are not referring to a 911 turbo or GT2, nor an Aston Martin, are you?. McLaren perhaps? And everything comparable should be well over that price tag, like Paganis and Koennigssegs

I don’t know what your tastes are and this is the topic for an entire thread, but just in Ferrari how about F12, 812, 812gts, 430 scud, 360CS, 458, 458 spider, fiberglass 308, 575, 599 etc etc.

Just for v12, have you driven an 812 or F12? They are half price and if you buy right you won’t lose a penny.

I was excited to spec my 12C allocation. Until I fully absorbed the car I'd actually be spec'ing. Disappointingly, I had no choice but to walk away. I really wanted to want the car. But the car itself isn't worth wanting.
