    I like the Ferrari 312 with the "spaghetti" ceramic exhausts(white) flowing down the top of the V12 next to the Westlake Eagle. Then the Ferrari 312B2 (Jackie Icks car).

    1963 British GP, Silverstone, 1st row is pole position Jim Clark (Lotus 25), Dan Gurney (Brabham BT7), Graham Hill (BRM P57). Jack Brabham (Brabham BT7) ´4th place does not appear in the table.
    On the 2nd row are John Surtees (Ferrari 156/63), Bruce McLaren and Tony Maggs (both in a Cooper T66)
    Clark won, Surtees and Hill completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd position respectively

    71 USGP, Longtime Lotus enthusiast and VW dealer Pete Lovely in his home brew F1 car, a Lotus 69 F2 car with the Cosworth DFV drivetrain from his Lotus 49. Never had a chance of winning, but enjoyed the hell out of the effort.

    One wonders how many more races and championships Clark would have won if not for Hockenheim. I can virtually guarantee that he would have won the 1968 championship. It would have been neat to have seen him in a John Player Special!

    Was that for real? I know they called some of the F1 cars of that era "biplanes", but those cars had single wings front and rear. This F2 (?) car is rather different!

    It was amazing that Ickx, in an F2 Matra, was dicing with the "big boys" until his suspension broke - with all the "yumping" going on, that was bound to happen. But that drive got him an F1 offer from Enzo Ferrari!

    Miserable weather that weekend but it cleared up on Sunday. A stirring race between James Hunt and Jody Schecter in the 6 wheeler, and a heroic performance by Niki Lauda to 3rd.
