Just wanted to say that I recently installed the *********** CarPlay (and Android Auto) Retrofit Kit and absolutely love it. Works perfectly (once you get it set up) in my 2019 Portofino. Found here:
    Wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto For Ferrari 458 (F142) 488 (F142M) F12Berlinetta (F152) F8 (F142MFL) 812 Superfast (F152M) GTC4Lusso (F151M) Portofino (F164) California T (F149M) - ***********

Installed in my stock Portofino unit. Install is 100% plug and play. No cutting wires or modifications needed to existing harness. The installer and his team had the unit installed in less than 3 hours and has hidden all the wires properly making it look like it is meant to be. Takes longer to take the console out than to do the actual install. Once installed wireless apple carplay works just as described, very good. I am amazed at how well phone calls sound, and how well all the buttons map to the carplay unit. I no longer need to mount a mobile phone for navigation or have a something hanging off the dash of the car. All the applications work just as they would on your iPhone, with voice control to all applications working correctly. It brings the car back to a young car again. Which is exactly what I wanted most.

My advice is that the installation is best to be performed by professionals; you should bring it to a competent shop to get the work done. And you'd better ask the installer to follow the instructions properly, be sure to connect everything properly, and double check whether the wiring is correct if things don't seem to work during the installation. By the way, I did ask a lot of questions and the support there was very helpful in answering them all. I have to say that the service of *********** is excellent, and they responded very fast. It's good!

Overall 0 complaint from me doesn't lag, doesn't crash, easy to install, retain steering wheel controls, easy to switch between original system and apple carplay, factory unit look. Works as intended. If you want to modernize your Ferrari I highly recommend that you purchase a Retrofit kit from ***********, and then you bring it to a professional shop to install it.

I have no affiliation with these *********** guys, but now I'm a happy customer. My wife is thrilled and that's good enough for me. Took some photos and wrote up this post. Hopefully it's helpful for others who might want to attempt this.

I bought the same unit for my 2019 Portofino. Haven’t had installed yet due to a AC issue which was supposed to be an easy fix but now requires dropping the dash. Figured best to wait until after the repair is finished to prevent any potential issues at my local dealership

Anyvody knows where I can find step by step instructions to remove the dash? I am very tempted to buy this product but I want to make sure I don't damage the car while installing it. Thanks!

So, I took the plunge and purchased the kit. It comes with an installation video… I was able to follow it to remove the panel under the dash and almost get access to what the central unit of the infotainment system. Slight issue, I have a black metal cradle that is not on the installation video. Anybody knows how to remove this metal part?
Once I have removed it, I’ll be able to get full access to the central unit to plug the CarPlay adapter. Thank you!

That is a structural beam. I do not think you will be able to remove it. You will need to take more of the dash apart. Sorry!

    Thanks, I was expecting that...
Any hint on how to remove the central part of the dash?
As much as it was reasonably easy to figure out how to remove the left part, I can't seem to remove the central part.
I did remove all the screws I could find but it's not coming off
    Thanks!

Best for you to get a copy of the workshop manual. That will have a step by step with pics. Well worth it if you intend on doing your own work on the car.

As for your situation, I think you will need to take apart the steering wheel shroud to get access. Specifically the bottom part of the shroud.

Thanks - I'll try to remove the steering wheel shroud
Anybody knows where I can find a workshop manual? I have seen a few on eBay at outrageous prices and given I am not planning to do much work on the car, I most likely only need a few pages for this job...

I got it installed on the GTC4LUSSO today. I'm in Australia and the module was not under the steering wheel. It was under the glove compartment, so the instructions were completely wrong. And once installed, it's not working properly. I'm unable to connect my phone, the touch screen or controls don't work when switched to the module via the back button. Anyone else had this issue?

I had the same problem with a unit for the Cali T. The unit may need to be-reflashed with new code. The unit I had wouldn't accept the refresh and ultimately it was junked. My supplier just sent me a replacement because it wasn't worth the expense and time to send it back and ship another.

They sent me a replacement and it had the same issue. I ended up removing it and sending it back. Spent more than $1000 AUD in installation and removal and got nothing to show for it. Disappointed but also happy to be without carplay.
