F8 Any idea what this clip goes to?

The loose panel somewhere in your car

 

Agreed. Those are clips that are used thru out the entire car. It could be from anywhere. Did you recently remove a panel or have something installed?

 

Maybe it's an extra clip that was left in the dash when new and it finally found its way out?

 

Possible prior owner or shop had a panel off and lost it but replaced with another one

 

Since there are no problems so far, I would start by pulling on all the panels to check for looseness.
If everything feels secure and tight, I would then look at the service records to see what area of the car was touched, and look carefully at anything that would be removed for servicing. If I still came up with nothing, I would save the clip, and next time something is pulled off that doesn't have a clip where it belongs, I would re-install it. Otherwise, forget about it. As others said, it may have been lost in there from the factory, and worked it's way out.
