I was wondering if anyone has a pinout for the headlight switch connector coming out of the steering column? I also want to verify the operation of the switch. I ohm'd out the wires and I think I have it down but I want to make sure before I check it off my list.

    Position 1 (Up) - Off
Position 2 (Mid) - Low bean
Position 3 (Down) - High beam.

    Thanks everyone.

if you register on the official Ferrari owners web site, I believe you should be able to download a PDF copy of the Owners Manual. It should give you the correct positions for the headlight lever. I think you are missing a position for the parking lights in your original post. On my vintage V-12 I have a toggle swith to turn the headlights on and off. The headlight lever is low beam (UP), high beam (MIDDLE), parking lights (DOWN).

The Dino has a switch at the end of the stalk that turns on the parking lights a believe.

You know you car better than I, but are you sure that the switch at the end of the lever is not the main ON-OFF switch for all the lights?

To be honest with you I really don't, when I received the vehicle it was in pieces. and the wiring harness was completely disconnected and half way removed from the vehicle so I never saw how it operated before hand. And there's not much info when it comes to the deep electrics because of how many different variants there are of the vehicle.

Here is a 1972 Dino wiring diagram. Items 21, 38, 39 are for the lights. The dimensions of the diagram are very small. It might be a good idea to get this file printed on langer paper.

There are six wires at the headlight switch connector: a small green, two large blue, a large black, red, yellow. The small green wire gets connected to ground when you rotate the knob on the stalk. This controls the light relay that provides power to all of the park, tail, license plate and dash illumination lights.

The two large blue wires are connected together when you operate the high beam flasher, by pulling the stalk towards you (but I don't recommend using it, as it can cause the plastic of the stalk to break). The large black wire is power into the switch and is connected to the red for low beams and the yellow for high beams.
