April has been mentioned here as a possible based on one or two sources both at factory & dealer level - when have Ferrari ever previewed in the app - if you are lucky you may hear soon from your dealer to either attend a preview or leave a deposit -- beyond that there's sometimes an email from the factory with a few days notice of launch video presentation

Your logic is sound IMO except for the "maintain 80% of the value" on the general Ferrari stuff. In high tax environments thats simply not possible as you immediately lose most of the tax component. Having had plenty experience in both high tax (35%+ on cost) and low tax (7.7% on cost) environments I can confirm that this is the case.

In addition it appears the general stuff (296 / Roma etc) is losing more than 20% these days) independant of the tax loss.

Depending on the dealership, you could buy all those cars and still not receive a VS.

Exactly. It all boils down to either who you know or, how much you are prepared to suck up and compromise yourself in that process. And even then, after all that sucking up there is a good chance you won't get one because someone else did a better job.

Flipping a car is really not worth the effort. For example, let’s say you bought a car at sticker for $350k and immediately flip it for $400k. Sounds great right, $50k? Not so fast. First you pay 6% sales tax, that’s $21k, then another $2500 in dealer fees and registration stuff. After that you only up with $26,500. Then you pay another 40% in short term capital gains, $10,600. So you net $15.900. Agreed, far better ways to make money. Tax free Muni paying 4% interest will net you $14k in one year.

From what I've seen it appears to be a case where many of these flipper types are primarily motivated by being able to impress people by showing they are able to acquire a car which is impossible for many enthusiasts to get.
Once they've exhausted all avenues to impress they look to sell for a fast buck, which is often only a short time after delivery. Of course the car barely gets driven but they make out they've driven the pants out of it to justify their reasons for selling so fast if ever asked, but the odos reflect otherwise which only proves they are terrified of putting mileage on which will affect the sale value. A truly pathetic situation.
Its great when some of them move too slowly to sell - (get too caught up in the boasting) - or bought in too late in the cycle to be able to sell out at a profit and do their doe as they are usually financed to the hilt.
But what always surprises me is how these types are always the first to get these special versions, so any talk from the dealers that they hate flippers and go through various processes checking their customers who should get and who shouldn't is just a whole load of BS because its the same story every time.

i guess first VIP´s / first customer cars are late 2025 deliveries. Mainly we will see the first new models rolling around Monaco  (on all different number plates)
    and regular / semi-good-customer-cars ("as i am / as we are") i´m with you: delivery Spring/Summer 2026.

F want to promote their App - but until now: no advantages. But someday they will start to launch a bit before for registrated users or so. At the end it doesn´t make sense because somebody would leak the infos - and so they would loose the big bang (in high quality) for the world.
A preview of the real car will be for sure also a bit before in Modena - on March maybe for VIP´s - before the online launch in April.

    I will sign a 296VS precontract at my dealer today + 10k or 30k€ pre-payment.
The dealers know already roughly how many VS they will get.

    Somebody could guess production numbers?
    296 VS
    296 VS Spider
    296 VS Piloti

How high where the Pista + Pista Spider numbers?
Pista Piloti should be around 160 cars - based on https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/pista-piloti-colour-number-combination.602445/page-4

I think the 296 VS will depreciate just like the others.

I also wonder if will have FAL as the AF didn't have it.

    Just like with the Pista.
Good enough for me as the Pista Piloti is a wonderfull headnod towards the winning car.

i signed / but some dealer are just doing it by word.
and i will be also informed as soon i´m allowed to pay the deposit.

i asked and looked a bit - those numbers i got:
    Pista 4000
    Pista Spider 1450
    Pista Piloti 160

296VS and 296VS Spider and 296Piloti will supersede the 296 and 296GTS production.
I guess it will cost net the 296 Listprice +50k€ or even +75k€
Anyhow - the (again big numbers) will be sold out. Doesn´t matter if in EU, US, China or ROW. Doesn´t matter if the VS will cost net 320.000,- or 350.000,- € (my Pista Base Spec was 246.000,- € net in 2018, my 296 GTS Base Spec was 271.000,- €)
The 296 used-market could stabilize a bit - based on a new and more expensive 296 VS.

And i´m ok with all this above - as long the car will be fast, rude and sexy. :D

Interesting, I've heard and seen estimates more like $150k-200k USD over the base models.

50k euro would be an interesting move by them (which I am sure anyone who is getting one will appreciate!)

Doubt production and or price - it will be fast and a great drivers car.
Purosangue Monza special editions hybrid adds time to build - other models and all electric.
Too many other cars to produce 5600 VS - simply raise price and make less.
XX is coming in at 1m - I think many are WAY off on VS pricing.

    SF90 - 524msrp coupe 593msrp Spider vs XX 890msrp / Spider 995msrp
Lot depends on production volume - Monza F80 XX are good indicators of Ferrari's mindset.
I think they will make a lot less and charge more - not so easy to get allocation. 150k+
