Has anyone experienced the slow, slow startup of CarPlay in the Roma (2024 model & "new" Roma CarPlay)? I sometimes have to wait 5 minutes from starting the car until the CarPlay activates. Admittedly sometimes it never starts up. I'd say the quickest would be 1 minute and longest (if working) say 5 minutes.
A friend's Lamborghini Urus has been recalled and is with his dealer due to the same / similar issues with his CarPlay. But Lamborghini have registered it as an issue globally and are sorting it for him.

Yes - this happens every 2nd time I drive my Roma. Very frustrating and definitely an issue.

Wireless CarPlay is flakey in all cars though. I have the same in my BMW M3 Touring. I'd say 1 in 10 times it doesn't connect at all, and it can take a minute or 2 to connect, but sometimes it is instant. Wired was much more stable. I wouldn't say my Roma was any different in all honesty.

All Land Rovers I’ve owned, the wife’s Volvo and Maserati have all been instant Bluetooth / car play connection. Very few issues.

The BMW’s I’ve been given to drive from my Ferrari dealership while my Ferrari’s are being serviced have all INSTANTLY connected to my iPhone with Apple CarPlay and I’ve never had one issue. Sigh…

Agree, Apple CarPlay is a bit flaky... on my Cali T it's wired in via usb seems to work all the time. On my BMW 5x latest model CarPlay works nearly 100% on first start of the day, but if you stop for fuel for example CarPlay doesn't always start or starts 5 mins in to your journey. Oddly some of the functions on the steering wheel won't work too eg track forward/back etc

I dont thing your Roma CarPlay issue is unique to Ferrari

So, there's no fix for this at Ferrari - like there seems to be at Lamborghini?

I really do struggle to understand how (in 2025), leading companies like Ferrari can't get simple things like Car Play / Bluetooth right. Why do customer's accept it?

I just picked up a 2021 Roma today, is the CarPlay interface different in model years? I figured the hardware was all the same in all model years..

Many times it is the phone itself that is the issue. Porsche and Audi also have this flaky wireless issue. Perhaps it is because the use similar Becker systems.

The other issue is because CarPlay requires quite a bandwidth and a very strong signal strength to work. That is why the first versions were wired only. Ferrari uses a highly insulated LDVS like connection for wired CarPlay to reduce this signal loss.

The 1st thing to do would be to check the wired connection. If that works normally , then you have an issue with the wifi & bluetooth on the unit. If it does not, then you need to perform a hard reset on your phone.
