Joey- Ian is much more help on wiring issues than I am. My stereo has not been turned on for years.
Hi again, In my 550-case it wasn't the wiring of the radio, it was a transistor in the radio (looked like a mushroom) that was causing the on-off phenomena. However, what caused the transistor to blow up in the first place was the AC compressor fault. Anyway, could be different in the 575...
thanks! it really could be an issue within the radio. i know theres a company out in the US that will repair the Becker for abut 300-400$. i just need to confirm 100% that its actually the radio.... i need to connect my voltmeter to harness when i have a chance to see whats up.
It is pretty easy to open the radio case. And even if you're not a radio technician, you'll see straight away if something is wrong "if" you see a blown up transistors etc. A repair should not cost more than 20-30 USD...
Thanks for the info!! Let’s say a transistor is blown… would the radio still intermittently work when it feels like it Like in my case? Thanks for the heads up I’ll try and open it up and take a look!
It did for me, BUT the real cause was the AC compressor that started this issue. As I explained in previous threads, couldn't repair it in Sweden. Had to buy a new compressor (ordered by local Ferrari agent) at around USD 3,000. Since then, no issue.
The 550 radio and HVAC system uses the same fuse. The 575 doesn't. It's not likely the two are related.
Has anyone had an issue with this radio where the backlight ( green) illumination just suddenly stopped working? the power button is still illuminated but nothing else lights up.... are there bulbs inside? is it one bulb? could something have shorted?
hi all, can someone help with the attached? to the left of the radio in the tunnel was this male/female connection with 4 wires. one wire is orange, one is black one is brown and theres a beige wire ( disconnected). does anyone know what this connection is for? should i splice back the wire and reconnect with a new pin? any idea why it would be disconnected? everything seems to work fine....
Possibly the cabin/interior temperature sensor connector. Two wires might be for the sensor itself and the other two wires may be for the small fan motor which sucks in air so that it can be sampled. Look for a small circular grille in the dash to the right of the steering column. Image Unavailable, Please Login I think the fan wiring is orange and black. I don't know how loud the fan is, but perhaps you can test the suction of the sensor with the plug connected, then disconnected. I used to use 1 ply of toilet/tissue paper to check the suction of the fans on aircraft cabin sensors. Sometimes they were wired up incorrectly, and blew instead of sucked.
