True market based on asking prices of $350-380k? Now that is the dumbest thing I've heard this year on FerrariChat, yet actual sales prices on an extensive and an efficient market place that gets more eyeballs than anywhere else in the world is not legit pricing? yes the BAT cars probably aren't as nice as this one or even some out there that sat in a collection with 1k miles, but $315k is a good asking price for this nice example, not over $350k. Just face it you are crying your F8 has depreciated so much the last year, that's the only reason you are arguing. emotions over pure facts. This car is at least a top 10-percenter if not a 1-percenter.
I would also argue that auction sites do not set the market. They are certainly one data point, but I would discount the price action in auctions because they're time bound meaning only the pool of buyers available in that window (which how many are there really in this segment), who are ready to buy in that window, who are comfortable buying through auction sites (I can definitely say I am not one of them). So sure, it's valid to point them out, but I would disagree that auction prices set the market. I watch auto trader far far more than I should. Obviously we can't know if the inventory of cars listed there are sold or just un-listed, but the cars available change all the time, and those few bottom priced cars have been there for quite a while - which suggests to me that the much higher listed cars are moving. For how much below the list price, again, no clue, but I would guess (hope?) they're not going for 30k under the asking price.
yes, watching AutoTrader and dealer sites with sky high asking prices in a declining market tells you more than actual sales. Ohh my. years ago we had a thread in Rossa where users would share their actual buy prices, it was AMAZING how much lower their actual price was below classified and dealer asking prices. all of you F8 owners, if you really want to cry, take your car to the local dealer right now to see how much they offer wholesale.
of course, asking prices don't determine market value... NOR does BAT auction sites.... I've already explained the concept of BAT and others as much as I can in other threads without actually telling you how and why it was created....and who 85% of the cars sold go to.... I can't understand how some of you just can't understand the car business...I mean, I've only been in it for 29 years.. anyway, shut up Todd, are you still typing? You're right Rob, F8's are worth 280-300k and all the other nonsense you type about car values and how they're derived. The rest of the things you say over all the years is good but you just don't get car values and what cars actually sell for to the end user.
banned, just admitted he's a dealer and he's a complete idiot attacking me saying all F8 couples are actually selling for $320-360k. We don't need dealers like that on here feeding ******** to our users inflating the market.
Dang Rob. Pretty tough on this guy. Isn’t he a finance manager at a Hyundai dealership or something? I’m sure he’s seen a lot of transactions, probably not on Ferraris, but his opinion is just that. Oh well, I was hoping he was right for when I sell my ‘22 F8.
05F430F1 has been pretty upfront that he's a dealer, explaining often how he and other dealers use BAT to get inventory - which seems pretty logical to me. I don't see an option to delete my account, so please feel free to ban me as well, this doesn't feel like a place I need to be anymore.
cross referenced he has a mod history report going 30+ items, I didn't even know that part, but makes sense now how he acted here.
I see, people that have 30+ separate and distinct moderator actions over a few years get a free pass from you. if that's the quality of people you support, yes I agree you don't belong here.
And yes check out the carbon center console. . More carbon on this car than some race cars! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Time to get Lou’s thread back on his beautiful F8. Sorry for any contribution I had to the tangents, but I was defending Lou’s knowledgeable asking price vs. 05F430F1. That’s where it started. We can start a different F8 actual sales vs. asking price thread and dealers inflating asking prices.

Rob my understanding is those “Bid To” prices are not sold cars. Just low bids and the car never sold….unless I’m not understanding sold BAT auctions vs Bid To and not sold.
Rob I truly believe you are misinterpreting him…he works at a Jeep dealership in finance….not here to sell exotic cars and has never approached a thread trying to sell any of us anything. I just read through this thread and everyone is only having a civil discussion.
As much as a disagree with Todd at times, especially on the value of the F8 and BAT, I do have to come to his defense. He does own an F8 and a 911T and works in the finance department. I’ve never seen him try and sell any Hyundai or jeep on here. Maybe a thread ban would be more appropriate? Now back to OPs car. Perfect color, the critical options and perfectly priced. I’m not sure why it hasn’t sold.
let's give Lou his thread back, but I still think this is a good discussion in another thread. you are right, but 15k views, 40 different bidders with the reach of BAT "bid to" might be closer to market than a dealer with a inflated price. might also be the dealer isn't expecting to take a Canadian discount, which cuts down the reach of his market.
Well... we are keeping Lou's thread at the top! LOL I've been to many track day events back in the day where Lou was testing his Corvette race cars. Always a thrill to be on track with him and of course give him an early point by! LOL.
I will let you know tomorrow but I believe it is sold. It has been fun watching this thread. . NOW, if any of you live in the Dallas area, you should come to the Cars and Coffee tomorrow at G2 Motorsports park, just north of Dallas. !!
