Turbo kick from that era was hard to deal with as Ian intimated, I found the 930 or whatever model just as bad (can't believe I even considered a Porsche let alone a turboed one) The one I drove was from the sport car dealer next to the Valley pool on Wickham street (believe it's gone now)
I remember that dealer fondly - if not for the fact that settlement was due the next day (and my husband's mother would have killed me!) we would have spent our land money on the 308GTS they had in the window in 1985 or so!

The local garage, It took a good 5 hours of various grades of sanding then polishing and finally a sealant, it wasn’t cheap but the finish is very good, the clear lenses transform the front end, I’m so glad I finally got around to it, mind you It would have failed the pink slip if left, they were that bad .

Would almost certainly be easier to deal with with modern tyres. But you might not win a plastic trophy somewhere.
Thanks Simon but I’ve already paid a guy $600 to fix it, a bottle of Rainex and a bit of elbow grease just wouldn’t cut it unfortunately but thanks for the afterthought
Without seeing how crook yours were it's an unknown,it can have surprising results particularly if you have a variable speed buffer at hand.
yep the guy had to orbital sand over and over again to remove multi layer deterioration in the lens, painful job and something I was happy to pay someone to do properly .
I’ve used this with good results Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My fav! $30+ a kit, but works well for a one use item. But now I use a Mothers Brand "kit" that I get from Supercheap. $70 and I have done over 30 head light restos with it and I just started to use the new sanding pads in the kit. Still got plenty of polish left also in the bottle. Just need a cordless drill and it's easy work. I have saved HUNDREDS of dollars using that Mothers kit on my Murri Motors cars.
And speaking of warranty........... This is why Murri Motors is a step above the rest of these back yard car yards. Sold a very nice lady a very nice 2006 VZ SV6 Holden Commodore. I had back door window tint replaced on both sides, $400 for 4x new wheel center caps new battery, changed engine oil and filter, new coolant, drivers seat belt stalk to clear an airbag code, headlight polish, new bonnet struts, new boot struts, new glovebox clips and I fit a spare wheel in the back for them which I buy for $50 from the wreckers. Nice car, very tidy, 180,000 kms, ex-Police car with "leather" interior. Engine was very quiet and smooth and it never missed a beat for the previous owner who was local who drove it for around 5 years. I sell this car for a nice little $1000 profit to this lady and one of her family members picks this car up and drives it 2hrs down the road heading to the NT and the engine locks up on the side of the road. Lucky it was late afternoon and cooled down a little as it was hot as hell that day. She called me at work at 5am that morning to tell me she's gone and towed it back to her community, Epenarra NT. I wish she left the car there on the side of the road, as I could have gone and collected it from there a few hours later after work with my car trailer. She's made it difficult now as it's 450km one way to the Barkly Homestead, then another 130km one way of the worst corrugated dirt road in Australia she said lol. I refunded her $4500 straight up for the car and $300 for her fuel bill also to drive there and tow that car back, she wasn't too worried about the fuel money, but I told her no worries, happy to refund her that also. Trouble is now but, I have to do a mission to go and get this ****en car. So I told myself **** it............................. it's not worth destroying my car trailer and Hilux suspension to go and get it, they can keep it for spares in the community lol. But she was nice enough to tell me she's going to borrow her Supervisors Nissan Patrol (she works at corner shop) and she will rent the car trailer from the Mechanic at the Barkly Homestead for $100, and she will load it up and trailer the car back to the Barkly Homestead for me so I can go and collect it. She will work out a time that best suits her to do it and she will let me know when she takes it there. I offered to pay the fuel money again and car trailer hire, but she's all good she said. She was just grateful I refunded her the money, no one else would have. I told her of course I would refund her, she only drove it 200 kms down the road, it's not her fault and it is what it is. She said other people have ripped her off before like this. I am just lucky (or unlucky) that I have a good running spare V6 Alloytec LY7 engine there to do an engine swap. I got the complete running car as wreck for free with suspension damage, but I paid my mate $50 to tow it to the yard for me. This the first time in 165 cars (I counted how many cars) that I have bought and sold over the last 10+ years that has driven down the road and blown up like this. Very disappointed as I have a big job on my hands now lol. I should just leave it there for free parts for them doing my bit for the Epenarra Community. Here is a picture of the car when I first got it a few months ago and the distance to Epenarra. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Went to The Bend today to watch my 16 year old niece have a track day experience. She got a few laps in a Mustang and an open wheeler. Some nice cars in the foyer, including a couple of Paganis, an SP2, Enzo, Testarossa, and a 246 GT… Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
