Thank you for posting impressions. Your initial experience is in-line with what I'm expecting, a more special SF90. I totally agree on the driving position of the SF90, it's one of the things that stood out to me right away the first time I drove one. I'm not expecting mine until late summer/early fall so keep the impressions coming.

    And do post some pics!

Congratulations @Lukeylikey and thank you for the initial impressions! It's always interesting to get the impressions of non car people because sometimes they have a better perspective than those of us who are immersed.

Please post soon and pics buddy … looking forward to driving our spiders together in the next month /two when I’m allowed to by the Docs ….. not quite a convoy , but would be a lovely visual /audio feast to see 2 xx spiders out together … Bravo again buddy !

Oh wow, sounds very painful. I won’t ask what you were doing. You’re in the right family to get patched up though - you must have an expert around you somewhere!

Sounds like a trip to Caffeine and Machine or something like that is due in the spring. Here are a couple of pics out and about, just the usual iPhone stuff.

OUCH hope you recover quickly and with the minimum of discomfort. At least you are away from cars during the best time of year to be away from cars.

Hi buddy - was actually trying to help someone else when it happened at work , so hopefully il go to heaven ! Wowser , that looks spectacular !! There’s something about that HyperClub livery that just suits the car the best !!!!! Awesome ! Yup , a Caffeine n machine blast sounds good - we’ll warn the local sheep farmers that there may be some noisy disturbance in the hills while they’re lambing !!

If you dont mind me asking - what is the reason for buying a spider version of a track-purposed version of a car that already exists in a spider form of its road-purposed iteration? It was necessary to get an F80 allocation?

We have a standard spider and I was originally offered an XX coupe - ideal I guess. But then I was asked if I would like a spider. So, with it being rarer and, let’s face it, it won’t spend much time on track when we have a perfectly good GT3 RS that is a whole lot more cost effective to pin around a track regularly, we chose the spider. Using the XX spider as a road car seems to be, shall we say, a very nice idea. Yes, it makes little sense as a car, but frankly, what of any of this is about sense? Drivers racing around in circles, risking their lives, is one of the least sensible things you can do. But it’s pretty great all the same!

The XX is based on one of my favourite cars, with added drama, technology, aero and performance. I can’t get what Rafaele gets out of it, so I may as well have the top down while I’m enjoying myself :)

Ps, we have a Speciale coupe and a Pista Spider. I drive the Pista spider more.

I think the spider is a great choice, option of having the roof off would just add to the driving experience in my opinion. In my view convertibles add more to the driving experience than they take away.

It seems going by your comments that you prefer the motor behind the driver configuration. With that said you still seemed to particularly enjoy the V12 charms of your old 812 GTS on a Swiss tour? Has the simple expediency of more power 'stolen your heart' so to speak? Is there still a place for the simple V12 package?

I think if I could have only one exotic, it would be a mid-engined car. But the front V12s are just a joy. They don’t handle like a mid car but they have other attributes, plus a great big 12 cylinder engine! Having made the first statement, probably my favourite of our cars is the Comp. Just something about that car. But then I drive the SF90s more. Confusing!

Our now-departed GTS was a very special thing and a better car than the coupe. I only sold it because we did TM on the Superfast and not the GTS, plus we will do a TM 12C spider so they will be a kind of pair. It’s hard to have only one in the garage - you need a mid car and a front V12 :) What a blessed life. I hope I never sound less than grateful.

My brother, almost no one will be tracking SF90 XX (whether spider or coupe). In fact, most of them will see very few street miles (btw, this is not a judgement). These are limited number special Ferraris, they are rare and valuable and most owners would not risk tracking them (or diminishing their value) outside of a few parade laps.

What is the reason for buying an 812 Comp Aperta? If I had the means, the beauty alone would suffice.

I will track the XX every chance I will have, these cars are meant to be enjoyed for their designed purpose you’d do yourself a disservice by not enjoying it to its fullest.
I know it won’t be as good as a fully prepped race car but it will still be exciting.
