Good for him! The buyer of this 575 also bought a 612 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2005-ferrari-612-scaglietti-29-2/#comments-anchor
No affiliation. I may as well put this here. 575 Manual, RHD, Blue with Red interior. https://www.ddclassics.com/used/cars/ferrari/575m/maranello-441
Dead nuts sexy color combo on today’s BaT 550. Very rare Azzuro Cali over Cuoio Hammered at $180,550 which in this color combo seems low frankly My marriage counselor says it’s a good thing I don’t have more storage! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-550-maranello-51/?utm_source=Iterable&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=campaign_2648441#comments-anchor
Anyone know how the 456GT manual shift gate (PN 155141) is different from the 550/575/456n shift gate?
This one is back on BaT for a 3rd time. Will be fun to watch this one…. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-550-maranello-46-2/
Argento over black 17k mile 2002 575M with Exoticars conversion sold for $123,000. https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/az25/lots/r0013-2002-ferrari-575m-maranello/
WOW that is shockingly low. For posterity ZFFBV55A620127767 Argento over nero with Daytonas and leather shelf, no shields, OEM wheels ps your 575 is still the #1….
You have to REALLY want the analog dash of the 550 if you choose a 550 over a converted 575 if you can buy a clean 17k mile converted by Team deGroot in argento for that?!? That car at that price….wow. I hope that result was a one off and not a trend….
In these times, I think the simple answer is it was not on BAT. Also, ad verbiage doesn’t advertise if it is OEM or aftermarket, etc. Early car, no Daytonas…FHP? Sothebys is a different crowd and has produced some (I think) low numbers in general lately.
I think Tripp is generally right - RM is not the right place to market that car. Buyers there are targeting much more significant cars, so this is not the driving enthusiast population, generally, who would be there for that car specifically; I wouldn't be surprised if somebody just added it onto another purchase(s) because it was "cheap." Great deal for the buyer assuming this was OEM. The supply of fully OEM conversions is low - and if there is incremental interest in those vs non-original conversions, then this almost has to be a fluke. I sure as hell would not sell mine in the $1XXK range. Can't speak for others, but presumably feel somewhat similar. What could we possibly replace our cars with within $200K of a <$200K sales price? Another 550... but still not as good a drive as the Exoticars + Fabio + FHP + Trev 575 IMO. My prediction is that these cars will become understood when the striation between different types of conversations crystallizes and Ferrari buyers' interest in the new cars continues to wane. I can understand not necessarily wanting to divert from a 12 Cilindri because it's not compelling to a Daytona, for example, but a 600hp manual Maranello that sounds better than a 12C... that feels like a great alternative. Overall, that if a few assumptions are correct, that sale was an extraordinary deal. Good for that buyer!
I am not sure if no Daytonas will detract from a price because ironically, not selecting it When optioning makes it a rare spec. I do agree otherwise though
I was in Scottsdale and looked at this car pretty closely. It's nearly identical to mine. The seats were somewhat worn, and the dash still had sticky issues. I have no idea why you wouldn't address the sticky buttons while you have the dash out for the conversion. But otherwise, it looked like a very nice car. If I had been present for the auction I may have given this one a go because I've been thinking about converting mine. I wonder if the manual conversions will eventually sell in a similar way to the chop top Daytona conversions. A converted car will usually bring about the same as an original hard top. Even the best conversion will not bring anywhere close to an original Spider.
