It would help. But no, there will be exception more so with this model than past ones I suspect. However, things like your relationship with Ferrari, purchase history will come into play as Ferrari won't offer a VS to just any of their clients. Just personal opinion from past Knowledge.
Hot news: The VS model will take cues from the new F80. Same rims as F80, 2 rear spoilers left and right above rear bonnet, bigger exhaust, bigger rear diffusor, rear bonet fully closed, lighter, more PS and still hybrid. This is all I know, but it's been confirmed. Piloti edition confirmed with either livery from winning GT3 or LM. Introduction of the Piloti at Le Mans. Public introduction is April 29.
You can see the two spoilers here. I don’t know if they’re active or not. But it’s a really cool design. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think you see anything under $600k for these. They are going to make as much as they can and have a bunch of standard options that inflate the price. Remember the sf90xx is starting at $900k. I don't know if I'll be offered one, but if I am, I don't know if I'd take.
Recently ordered GT3RS received PTS first P car I've ordered. 3RS perhaps much like Speciale - NA. VS is wingless - cool aero, wouldn't pass on VS for 3RS.
Theyve all been relatively subtle though if you think about. Pista is beautiful but not crazy. Speciale isn’t a major departure from regular 458.
Yeah you’re right of course. And I’m not saying it needed a giant fixed rear gooseneck wing or anything. I just thought it would be half way between a Speciale and the SF90 XX and it seems to be MUCH more tilted toward the Speciale end of things. I was hoping for much more aggressive splitters and dive planes on the front as well as something a bit more racy at the back and maybe some more radical side venting in the front or back. Maybe some shark gills on a fender somewhere. But it seems like they are just doing that weird little spoiler below the side sill and the rear diffuser is barely altered if it all. This is not even as radical as the 812 Comp and seeing as how its base car has ZERO racing connective tissue whatsoever and the 296 has like a billion racing variants … yeah I gotta say I’m a lil bit non-plussed and kind of yawning at this thing tbh
Another good one. I do think it strikes a balance between XX and regular 296. I just hope the power is dialed up 10%! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bully for dive planes! Will be good if those make it into production. It needs them. The 296 is a very … ahem … pretty. It needs some butch elements for the VS. I’m sure it’s going to have an S scoop on the hood and that’s good because where they whiffed on the base model was the rental car hood. I still think the rear does not have a significant enough wow factor design element to give it the ‘hell yeah’ but I’m sure it’s going to be a GREAT driving car.
The Speciale believe has LaFerrari brakes, lots of new tech active aero. The rear engine fans were a IIRC a patent infringement - added 62k of downforce The price difference was 60k higher Speciale. Market speaks differently today and they made a lot. Hoping VS as it arrives after F80 shares well to the VS, rims are a great start. Be nice to see VS beat Valhalla on track and presence.
Big van of Valhalla but walked after waiting - years. Would love to learn why you think that - not even touch the Valhalla? The XX has more hp than stated - it runs even with SF90 and that takes way more than stated hp to push the downforce. Lambo years alter can't beat the SF90 - these are different times for Ferrari.
Valhalla has + 200 bhp on the 296 VS Valhalla has + 200 lb ft of torque on the 296 VS Valhalla is carbon fiber and race tech suspension 296 VS not in Valhalla’s league. Not even close.
It will have an S duct. From all the info I managed to squeeze out, there was a LOT of focus on aero. I have not seen the car, but again I did hear a lot about areo changes to the standard Car. Ferrari seems to want to step this car a bit up and is amining more towards a 'mild' XX version based on my intel. And let's not forget it also won't have a rear window. More HP, more aero, lioghter weight, this will be on ebonkers car. It will beat the Temerario with ease. As for the Valhalla, I was also on the list for that vcar, but lukicly decided to drop out. Something didn't feel "right" at the initial presentation. Glad I did as the downpayment was 250K. And now 6 years later still no car and the concept has massively changed. I do really like the looks of the car though. But it's still Aston Martin... hopefully they have learned a lot from the Valkyrie. Never seen so muchValkyrie up from sale right after the launch. With their new extended warranty you can now have amintanence for 40K a year which is great. But AM had to learn the hard way first... Anyway, back to the 296VS and I'm really excited to be able to aquire the Piloti version. This will be an amazing car to drive.
Oh absolutely. However that Speciale, just the name alone, being the last NA V8 will always be and remain a 'special' car. It's a collectors car that will always go up in value. I'm sure Ferrari will make a ton of the VS as they need to 'remain' ahead of Lamborghini and McLaren; if that's even an issue. I love the fact that Ferrari seems to be integrating more and more race tech into their VS cars. I always felt that this was a missing link.. an angle they never played out well. Racing is Ferrari's DNS. Streetcars is Lamborghini's dna. It's a completely different set up when you think of it. I can feel my Challenge's dna in my Pista's as well and just think that's pretty darn cool!
The rear will have bigger diffusors. The VS should be a lot more agressive. Which I too believe the 296 needs a bit. It's a bit 'soft' in the design department for my liking.
was also on the list for Valhalla but dropped out - seems to be common here! wondering how much weight the VS will have dropped, -100kg minimum needed imo
