The outside fuel filler cap on 10405 was only added in 2012, not before. Not factory original.

However, 10409 (with factory original outside fuel filler cap) was exported to USA in September 1978 and was yellow at that time.

How about the date of that photo?

I took the photo of that GTB/4 in Strasbourg in 1983. Maybe not #10405 or #10409 but another car ?

Born yellow, repainted red. Very badly crashed in France 1984, shortly after that pic was taken.
Previous plates had been "176 MH 86" (French Dept. La Vienne).
Last seen with a collector in Kuweit.

Hi, was this 10635 converted to a NART spider style after the accident?
    Thanks,

No, they fixed it "à la française", it went to JJ Bailly and on to NL, was restored, and in May 2007 UK dealer Lee Maxted-Page offered it before selling to a Kuwait citizen.

It is clear this car uses chassis number 07511. Isn't there another 275 GTB in Europe that also uses chassis number 07511?

Steve: Good catch, I missed it when Greg had the car at our house this fall. It is a very interesting car that has led a somewhat strange life, now in good hands.

Adaptor to utilise the 2 mounts of the 4 cam surely? The 07511 chassis would have the mounts for the original 2 cam engine that had 4 mounts.

Good catch regarding the door and lock being from a later car. Funnily enough, it still retains the early style door handle with its own lock. I have a letter from Mr. Smith to Gerald Roush dated Aug 4th 1984 that acknowledges that the driver’s side door was the only part of the repair where parts from another 275 were used. It is stated that the serial number for the donor door was unknown.

I would also like to make some corrections and clarifications regarding the generally accepted history of my 275.

In the Massini report it is stated that the car was badly wrecked and rolled in 1969. This is not correct. It was in an accident at that time, but it was not rolled and the damage was not particularly extensive. I have period photos showing the damage sustained in that accident as well as photos of the repairs in process. It is also stated that Wyatt Smith purchased the car in 1984. This is also incorrect. Mr. Smith purchased the car in 1970 and was then titled in his name on 2/11/1971.

The report goes on to say that Mr. Smith still owned the car in 1996 but then a some point in the late 1990’s/2000’s the car was sold to a coffee manufacturer and then the Distillerie Bonilla Family who reside near Padova, Italy. It then states in 2020 it was owned by Pierangelo Max Molena Trust, Italy.— This is all incorrect as well. Mr. Smith retained ownership of the car until I purchased it from his estate in August of 2024.

The correct name of the photographer is Justin Schmoeller.
An enthusiastic and very passionate young man from Switzerland who was just 16 when he took these photos on the 1st of March 2020 near St. Moritz, Switzerland.
